LEAK ALERT: http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/554/kube99088az7.jpg:rofl: That's to let the air out of the loop silly:eek: ;)

how loud is it ? o just 56 dBA  no thank you
btw beautiful case  It's 256 at 24V I don't know what it is at 12V: but it pushes a lot of air at that voltage too.

What do you mean leak?

Edit: Nevermind. Tubing in top left.Part of my incredible design:rolleyes: Why Thermochill makes it's 1/2" to 3/8 BSPP fittings like that is beyond me. I will have Iandh make btter ones soon. Explains the NO RETURN policy from NCIX:down:

yeah, that should be fixedPkay I figured Stevil was joking...but you sound serious...The clamps aren't installed yet...lol

Nice job Cyber.

...but that better be going outside mister! :cussing: :p: ;) It's a client build: hearing damage will be HIS problem...

You got it almos tright. It's a push arrangement for a varity of reasons. I plan to line the kube with Sonex...I had a vision of shredded Sonex lofting out of the top of the box :ROTF: So I flipped the fan...that way it will press it into the sides so I can keep it removable. Client may change his mind and want to s the guts.

Hey thanks guys I hope to have it ready for leak-testing soon. Not happy with the Thermochill barb so I might have to do something different.

And waiting to hear from the client about what extras he might okay: pressure gauge, temp monitor, switches, rheostat, quick disconnects...all up in the air.

:)

That is 1\2" tubing? since thermochill uses G3\8 threads u can use 5\8barbs.
Tubing will fit kinda like 7\16 on 1\2...

Why Thermochill makes it's 1/2" to 3/8 BSPP fittings like that is beyond me.

We don't - we BUY them in like that from the only source in the UK we can find for them. Our 3/8" BSP to 1/2" fittings are fine - these can be sourced from a variety of places and are over 1/2" in diameter. The O-ring G3/8" fittings however - we only have one supplier for them in this country, and that's the way they make them *shrug*.

That is awesome cooling should be superb!!. I had a bad experience working with the angle aluminum but mine was thinner so it was harder to work with esp with almost all hand tools, plastic miter box was meh... What did you use to get the nice angles cut?

CyberDruid
12-12-2007, 01:39 PM
A Hitachi 8 1/4 Compound Mitre Saw (power tool) but handsanding is required too.

as i stated before - great concept and execution...

it almost looks like that pump is too much for that reservoir... it's like a cauldron in there...

Excellent planning job, you can tell it's well thought out. The copper internals give it a great look, but I wouldn't have gone with totally clear sides.. just my opinion though that's very clean work!

is there any kind of seal btwn the rad and the plexi to ensure that all the airflow goes thru the rad?

CyberDruid
12-13-2007, 02:50 PM
Nope.

At the last minute I decided against it.

The rad is pressed up against the plexi pretty nearly flush. No more than a paper thin gap here and there.

Excellent work. I took a look at your site, and I must say, I am extremely impressed... looks a lot like what a friend and I were looking into, before we moved into really wild hardware (UMPCs, custom Linux macines, etc...) but that still interests me, I may have to move back to it...

I think I will make one with twin PA 120.3 rads and an Iwaki RD 30. It will be more rectangular..

Thinking of calling it the Water Log ;)

Finished cube looks good CD.

Even though you said the fan isn't loud, I'd still included a small piece of paper with a legal rider on it that states "Not responsible for any hearing loss due to using this product" If I were you. ;)

Currently searching for prettier extrusions.

I would like to make a hexagonal "Log" shape...but have not found any extruded angles that are the correct degree.

Thanks to Kapt.Krunch for the link to the alu brazing rods...that will be interesting.

cyber you selling these units?

lol i might be interested in sending you my RD-30, and 2 pa120.3 to see what you can do with it. :P

remember the RD-30 needs its own PSU!

CyberDruid
12-14-2007, 10:01 AM
Well I have sold the one in this log. I just ordered all the parts I need to start a dual PA120.3 build (http://www.overclock.net/cyberdruidpc/269837-build-log-prototype-external-cooler-tank.html) just to do it.

It will have an IwakiRD30 at it's heart and a pair of 172mmx 150mm fans. I have a Meanwell S 150-24 coming too...so I am pretty much set to build.

I think it's pretty funny that I could have saved myself about $700 and just Pmed you...

When I complete the build if you are still interested PM me and maybe we could cross ship and I could do it all over again :)

CyberDruid

Don't make me cry.

I want to be welding...something about it is very appealling. Need to finish the electrical service to the shop though.

Going to try my hand at brazing in a little bit.

Thanks guys.

HOLY CRAP the second project is really adding up...I am past the $1000 mark already on ordering.

Went to Lexan to make this next one indestructible, quick disconnects shutoffs, 12V and 24V PSUs and more...

Got parts arriving everyday: Fans and Pump and Aluminum and HW have arrived, plastic and QDs will be here tomorrow. Rads will be here the day after.

Might actually be able to get this done before the new year.

Still in the piling parts phase :D

When I have something to show I'll start a Log for your viewing pleasure :)
