So there isn't a huge gain in performance from adding another card? Most of the gains seem pretty marginal.

that's 3dmark though, gaming is where it actually matters imo

Dooglas, you see 3D mark score includes points for CPU too, so you can compare only SM2 and SM3 points to see how much gain you get with crossfire.

Still doesn't want to make me get a Quad once more after returning one...

My sig gets me over 16.7K in '06, so I'm happy with two cores for now.

definitely true :D
there is a huge performance increase with 3,6ghz quad cpu.
i think:
crossfire needs cpu performance

Not bashing ur test, but it doesnt help me very much since its no real game tests.
3D mark does nor reflect reality.
But if u could run some game becnches too it would be awsome.

i tried game benches, but the results were very strange sometimes (more fps when benching with higher quality  )
so i decided not to release them. (i had this problems just with crysis - i also installed the hotfix, but no difference)

ok - here some game benchmarks anyway:

every test with 2,4ghz q6600.
every result with 2x 3850 @ crossfire.
(i didnt have time to test the single graphic card - sorry. :(

you mounting cpu water block with only 2 bolts

no prob :D

2 bolts are more than enough  :D

if i do a fast change of the cpu i just stick the waterblock on the cpu :yepp:
