Hey guys,

I have been searching for a long time now to find a perfect coolant color. I am looking for a dark blueish purple. However I can't trust the bottle colors on sites because generally it comes out being completely different..

This is an example of the color I am trying to achieve. Anyone have any suggestions. Or anyone know where I can get my hands on some Voodoo coolant :P..

Thank you kindly.

I think mixing would be the best option, Just try a few different combinations until you get the color you want.

pentosin red (pink really) + pentosin blue makes a decent purple-y color.

red/blue here

a "red dye" that looks kinda purple by itself.

yea mix a lot of red with a little blue. but make sure the coolants are either the same active chemicals and/or that they are compatable. if they seperate over time then that a good first clue not to use them together. (dont want to make a bomb by mixing stuff :p: lol)

get yourself some primochill's...

i got the "older" version where they give you a bottle of clear liquid and some dyestuff... to get darker color, use less clear liquid...

here's my build. (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=154349)

one note tho, it looks much lighter thru the narrow tubes...

PC ice is not a bad choice, but you should be able to mix it up with some red/blue pentosin for less.

I dropped 4ºC by switching to distilled water from PC Ice. The only thing it's really useful for is the color.

Thanks for the tip Kinghong and everyone else. I found this.

Am I still going to have to add biocide and other products to this coolant btw? Or is perfect to go out of the bottle?

Shouldn't have to add anything to it, as far as I've read.

Just FYI you can buy that stuff at most online WC shops, its rebranded A LOT, but the bottle is the same.... so it's easy to spot.

Be warned, that stuff IS conductive... despite claims to the contrary.
And yes, it will perform worse than water.

Thanks for the heads up fujimitsu. I am sad, however i Don't want to try my luck at mixing colors etc as usually I have bad luck. I will give it a shot. I was going to consider food coloring but I don't want to stain my tubes and components so. :S.

I run distilled water with Petra's red UV dye. Some have said it looks purple. Shrug.

that southbridge fan color ruins everything ;) I'm seriously thinking of buying an MM case too. but the shipping costs will be high enough to say no, probably....

On topic: I think that purple color looks really nice. Or try some Feser One dye? I've just ordered to blue one.

Yeah, I've debated replacing it with a Vantec SB fan, but it's not that bright in real life, doesn't bother me that much. Besides, I don't feel like pulling the motherboard just for that. :)

Ask MM for a shipping quote, they're a great company to deal with. It cost me about 60 bucks to ship the box to my military APO address in Kuwait, but that was before they went hyper-modular. They can now ship cases in smaller boxes. Get a quote, it may surprise you!

And thanks for the kind words fellas.

Hey disruptfarm, the Ultras are great. I currently have 'em at 710/2460mhz, and I was able to break 20K 3Dmark06 points. I can perform the Crysis GPU benchmark test on Very High, with every slider set to full, and I get around 25fps average. That's at 1920x1200. :) I'm very happy with them.

This is what you get from mixing red and blue. So no its not going to give you the dark purple you want:

My recomendation is use the Dtek Dye

OMG that is such an OLD pic.

The first job of dyes is to add color.

The second job of dyes is to stain. ;)
