I received with my order "teflon tape".

I guess it's for my DCC pump, that still has the normal top (plastic).

I got these metal barbs that I can screw on it.
(sort of converter)

In that bar, I can screw the fittings for the tube.

Is it right that I use the teflon tape for the plastic part of the pump and then screw the barb on it?

Or has the teflon tape is another purpose?

If yes, how much teflon should I use?

Your post is somewhat confusing so pardon the seemingly stupid questions.

Are you using the stock top with your DDC?

Can you link to the DDC you have?

What is this "bar" you refer to?

Here's a pic:
(I already applied teflon tape on one of the connecters of the pump)

Whoa, a threaded DDC! And yes, that is the correct application.

Ok thnx :)

On what can I apply the Teflon tape more?
Because I have a lot left :P

And what does "threaded" mean?

threaded mean there is ridges to screw something. Most DDC has a 3/8" barb with no threads so that's why we are a bit stumped at first.

Your way to apply is correct ;)

That's what I thought you might be talking about but wasn't sure as the threaded variety isn't all that common for some reason. Most ppl have barbs where the threads are on yours.

Like Nate said, That's exactly how it should go. You wrapped the tape in the opposite direction of the threads, right?

Do NOT use the tape on your compression fittings! That's what to O-Ring is for.

"Threaded" refers to the screw-like groove on the pump.

He's surprised that it's threaded b/c pumps usually aren't threaded like that. They typically have female threads to accept fittings, or have no thread, and you just slip on the rubing (like the Swiftech 655).

That is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much teflon tape!

The purpose of teflon tape is to lubricate the joint and help block leaks. With that much teflon tape, you're going to have a very nasty connection and the seal will be far worse than if you skipped out on it entirely.

A roll of tape is incredibly cheap, but you're not supposed to use it all! All you need is 1-2 complete wraps of tape and that's it.

No there are 2/3 layers.

The last one I wrapped in IN the direction of the "converter barb".
So when screwing that on, the teflon won't come off.

If the adapter is G1/4" to G1/4", the extra tape will help fill the gap a bit better to prevent leakage.

Yeah, your right, had a brain fart before.
