Explanations:

For comparison, we also using Thermalright V2 to test 8800GT.

We use SilverStone’s 80*80*25mm fan for a better airflow on Thermalright V2.The highest rpm is 1722 and the lowest is 811rpm.

And we using SilverStone 92*92*25mm fan on HR-03 GT. The highest rpm is 2010 and the lowest is 925rpm. Because HR-03 GT have two way to install, so in all the situations it is installed in the fornt, and fan’s air flow towards the GPU.

The stock cooler can adjust its speed automaticly, so we using Rivatuner and let it run at the highest speed.

For a better and more fair compare, we test the refrence frequency(600/900/1500MHz) and OC 8800GT(700/1000/1600MHz). We compares the diffrent cooler with the fan’s highest rotate rate and the lowest rotate rate using the same speed governor.

In the resting prossess, the platform is installed in a in Casetek CK-1022-5 case. and the room is a 26 centidegree office. The air channel is not blocked. In the form panel there’s two 120mm fan and the back there is one 120mm.

Test bed:

In the testing we using ATITool to simulate load mode.

Red bar is lowest rpm, blue bar is highest rpm.

Different installions affact the tempature:

OC to 700/1000/1600MHz, load mode. The first bar is “HR-03 installed in 8800GT’s back, with its fan’s airflow towards GPU’s back”.

The second bar is “HR-03 installed in 8800GT’s back, with its fan’s airflow towards outside”.

The third bar is “HR-03 installed in 8800GT’s front, with its fan’s airflow towards GPU”.

did you get any increase in mhz on the core/shader/mem with this cooler????

Does it wrap around the card or hang underneath?

Those are some great results, it's crazy how one 65nm 88 can run cooler than the 45nm 3870's

it hangs underneath. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/sidewindercomputers/hr032.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/thhr.html&h=310&w=400&sz=61&hl=en&start=2&sig2=9sSAmq2oDyxxePbXk1GlOA&um=1&tbnid=nc2ZSWVPrDjM8M:&tbnh=96&tbnw=124&ei=7guPR82NCY-keeDbhYoO&prev=/images%3Fq%3DHR-03%2BGT%26svnum%3D50%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3 Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN

Does it wrap around the card or hang underneath?

you can mount it both ways (assuming its the same as the other hr-03 models).

Does it support 120mm fan on its wire clip? Or just only 92mm fans?

A bit late for an answer but it does ;)

I just bought it and although a bit pricey, this cooler is just plain awesome. Even at 846/2106/993 my volt modded GT stay under 54-55*C at load with a 120mm fan. I don't know exactly my ambient temp but I can tell you I am in Malaysia and the temps are without A/C turned on.

I wanted to get that one but the price was just too much. Add a fan to that and it's one of the most expensive air coolers for gpu's out there. I found a cheap'ish Zalman VF1000Cu (little more than half the price of the HR-03GT) which works perfectly fine, idle @ 44C, max load @ ~55C. (ASUS EN8800GT 512MB @ 720/1782/2040)

Can you direct me to the voltmod method/thread you used? Ive seen a few different ways to do it and since you got awesome results I will use your way :)

Rather than giving the RPM of the FAN i think you should mention the DB and CFM of the FAN. Temps will definitely change if one uses an 80mm 25CFM fan and 120 mm 110 CFM fan, as this cooler can support 120mm fans as well, one needs to buy fan clips of the TRUE for it though!

I'm using a regular HR-03 non-revA on my 8800GT with no-name 120mm @5V, works a treat

so no need to go and fork out for a GT if you have an HR-03 left over from a previous card (X1900XTX for me)

How much space is there between the base and the fins? Enough to mount a half height pci card directly below the 8800gt?

Be warned when using this GPU heatsink in SLI, you will need the long flexible SLI cable to bridge the distance over the heatsink.

i've seen people get creative and fit the bridge inbetween the fins

Well i already sold mine, with a Fan there is only one PCI Slot left which becomes a huge problem, so keep this in mind. Cooler is huge and effective but blocks prolly ALL PCI slots (With a FAN)

do you have any pics of the cooler attached to the card?

Mind going into further details?

what do you need to know?

HR-03 Rev A will fit G92 cards, you just need a few extra sinks for the VRM.

Just saying you don't need to go and buy an HR-03GT if you already have an HR-03 Rev A spare.

I thought the mounting holes were in different positions, which is why it shouldn't work. Guess I'll try mine.
