Hi

Basically that cascade is quite simillar to that one which I've built for Magoa - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=160934 (powder paint case, whole is made on machines) .

Differences are : bit stronger compressor on 2nd stage, Danfoss OUB1 oilseparator, vinyl sticker, the newest Dixell CX series controller, and some details :D .

Specs :

compressors: LG NK164PAB on 1st stage (10000 BTU), Toshiba PG165 on 2nd stage (10000 BTU)
evap: steeper
XV: Danfoss TES2 / captube 0.9 mm
HX: plate HX , 12 plates
condenser: 3.0 Kw, alu-cu, cooled by 300mm/230V fan
refrigerants : R507/R1150
oilseparator : Danfoss OUB1
safety : Danfoss KP15 dual cut-off (for 1st and 2nd stage), Frigomec 1.6l expansion tank
case : metal case, 54 x 50 x 43 cm, black paint
others: 4*REFCO panel gauges, ANACONDA shocks absorber on 1st stage suction line, Dixell XR20CX controller (turn on 2nd stage automatically when 1st stage is enought cold), homemade receiver before Danfoss TES2, 2* DELTA 120 x 38 mm fans on the back wall of case, wheels under case.

I fell really embarassed about that old and scrappy looking insulation on suction acumulators ...thank God that is covered one pic down :D .

Enjoy :) .

Finally it's making around -103*C noloaded, and -93*C on 225W - mine "standart" very heavy tunning :D (for huge loads, 300+ W) .

Now I have little problem with receiving money for this unit :-O - yes I have problem with customer ;-( (I wish I hadn't taken only 100 eur advance before build ;-/ ) . I hope everything will be right soon :).

With Kindest Regards

I se no tubebenders allowed in your workshop ;)

nice unit anyway

maybe time to get a decent 300w+ loadtester to tune it proper for that kind of load?

Incredibly nice, very good job Piotres. I wish I had condensors like that!
Those compressors come used? You seem to have a great source!

very nice

shame that buyer is a pain in the arse :(
hopefully it all goes through otherwise the sticker comes off LOL and to someone else home hehehe

soooo how do you figure a 220W tested can test for 300W load

piotres
11-23-2007, 06:04 AM
Hehe about over 250W loadtester ..now comes again era of bit lower power CPU (read Intel QX9650 ;) ) so I think that it starts to be bit unuseful ..

But maybe I'll think of sth around 270-300 W :D . We'll see.

I add more gas even if it was holding 225W stable ..so it's overcharged a bit to be sure that will hold around 300W too. In best charge for 225W I think it should make sth like -96-98*C @ room ambient temp (20C I mean) .

Compressors are never working before, only was mounted in brand new AC units :D .

Thanks guys :) . I hope situation with Zorbapol will be cleared soon too  .

Yes, it's very good cascade with good temps :) What captube you gave on 2nd stage? Remember, idea with load tester ~300W is very good.

it's officially snowing constantly here now, so consider yourself lucky. :p:

Very clean & professional looking, lucky (and apparently deep pocketed) buyer.

black screws!!! or paint them blacKKK
looks super hot! if i had enought money....
for the wiring u can use a special tube that u can put the wiring thru it is plastic or silicon and rezist up to 125celsius grades, and the nice part it does contract under heat! it protects the cables and looks good too, and is cheaper!

romanian name for it: ''tub termo contractibil'' , couldnt find the english word for it;) check the pic! the black stuff to the right

Been waiting for another one of your builds for a while now. How long did this take you to build?

Hi Peter,

Good work as always bro, and really good looking build
I'm wondering how it performs with QX6850 or QX9650 under load on it :D

Hi there,

i selected this thread because i know piotres & other will answer my question. I recently bought used Danfoss OUB-1 oil separator on eBay for 15€ + shipping = 22€. It was a bargain, new price is 222€ here in Slovenia. It was used with R134a and now i am wondering:

1) if there will be any problems when i'll use it with R1150a?
2) can someone confirm Danfoss NL11F default oil (POE oil) compatible with R1150a?

Greets,
N.

Clemmaster
03-04-2008, 10:36 AM
R1150a is HC gas, compatible with every oil used in compressors

tim-

1:
no problems.
2.
with oilsep, yes.

Thanks you both for such quick answers, looks like NL11F mini-cascade on-the-cheapo (got HX (30bar+, -200°C) for 35€, oilsep for 22€, evap milled for free, ...) will come to life sooner than i expect.

Thank you & sorry to piotres for spamming his thread :yepp:
