GIGABYTE-GA-P35-DS3R Mobo
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.44 GHz w/ Scythe Infinity HSF
4x1GB Crucial Ballastix PC2-6400 (DDR2-800) @ 4-5-5-8 430 MHz 2.0V
eVGA 8800GTS 320MB SC @ 610/970/1,580
WD 250GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache SATA HD
Sony CD/DVD IDE Combo Drive
Corsair HX 520W PSU
Vista Home Premium (32 Bit) and XP Home Edition (32 Bit) Dual Boot

3DMark06 - 11,300 (XP)
3DMark06 - 11,267 (Vista)

PC is completely clean and updated (Chipset/BIOS/Windows) and defragged for both OS's. Properly tested and stable. 24 Hours Orthos/Prime95 Blend and small FTT test/ 8 hours memtest 86 and ATI tool, 3DMark and Game stable.

XP - 163.71 WHQL
Vitsa - 169.09 "Recommended Driver for Crysis"

My maximum resolution is 1280x1024 so that is what I am using.

---------

1280x1024 - Very High Settings - Vista DX10 - No AA - 8XAF: 5-10 FPS

1280x1024 - High Settings - Vista DX10 - No AA - 8XAF: 15-20 FPS

1280x1024 - Very High Settings Hack - DX9 XP and Vista - No AA - 8XAF: 10-15 FPS

1280x1024 - High Settings - DX9 XP or Vista - No AA - 8XAF: 20-25 FPS *Only Semi-Playable Setting*

-----

I would of thought I could do DX10 with mix of high/very high settings with 20-30 fps especially @ 1280x1024 with no AA.

320MB seems fine for 1280x1024. According to Rivatuner Video Memory Monitoring it never went above 305MB unless I enabled AA with Very High settings in DX10.

169.09 does nothing over the 163.71 WHQL XP Drivers. DX9 performance is the same in Vista as XP.

What settings should I know about/tweak/turn down?

This seems low performance to me as I was expecting a bit more with a fairly high end PC.

Run Crysis in dx9 mode, that should bring your framerates up abit.

Im running my 7900GTO on vista 64bit and im running at 1280x800 medium settings with 25-40fps depending on where i am.
