I am sad of overclocking AMDs :p i want to try somethink new

It must be a P4 *g*

But now i have a problem... i am really new to Intel and i dont know what i should buy.

P4 1.6 Northwood looks good :) .. and i want to use Rambus.
Which Board should i buy? a lot of people said Abit Th7 II other people said it must be an Asus board. Now i'm confused.
What Ram should i use? Samsung 800 40ns..? I don't know...
Plz help me .. :)

Btw.... modding the Board is no problem for me....

TH7-II w\ Samsung 40NS 128\8 or 256\16 or Asus P4T533 (not P4T533-C) which comes with 32bit Samsung RDR modules (E\S).

dmitriyaz, Kinkston's pc1066 is 34NS..and it won't work under X3 properly..Samung Rulez :D

actually, its 32ns. :) ,
and it doesn't matter if it runs 4x or 3x. what matters is the Mhz it runs on, and you can't deny that a 32ns RAM will clock higher than a 40ns. besides, Kingston is among few manufacturers that dares to make server memory, which speaks of their very high quality. I heavent had any experience with their RD RAM, but all their other prducts i've dealt with are da :banana::banana::banana:.
its just an opinion though, i could be wrong, and i will be happy to take into conseration others' opinions too. :)

Asus P4T533-C and a NW 2.0a... that's my choise and i recomend to everyone... what's important it RDR POWA, and that's why you should chose a cpu that let's you use at full power the 4x on your Rimms...

Buy some Samsung PC800 45ns 8 or 16 devices... they are still the best for this board!!!

I don't recomend TH7-2 to anyone... unless they want to buy me mine... (it was macci's TH7-2... :D )

Why wouldn't you recommend the TH7-II?

You card is clocked slightly more than mine... I have 100mhz CPU speed but I have 400 pts advantage.

This is with a 2.26B @ 170mhz FSB to your 2.0A @ 138mhz...

I'd take the TH7-II bandwidth is king :D

macci only bettered the TH7-II when he used a Turbo PLL on P4T-E... before that it was king!!!
