If you put it in some boiling water first, then yes... otherwise don't try it
I mean don't put 3/8 Tygon tubing over D-Tek barbs... if you can do that without heating it up then you're either very strong or very lucky :p:

I'd be worried about it tearing the tubing or something, I've tried and it's a really really tough fit.

You will NEVER get 3/8in. tubing off 1/2in, barbs. NEVER.

All I use is 3/8" tubing over 1/2" barbs. Microwave a glass of water, stick the tubing in for about 10 seconds and push like crazy.

As said above, will not come off, nor leak! I use no clamps with this method and have not had a problem over the last two years.

You must use a razor blade to remove. When it is time for a change, it is usually new tubing time anyway from the clouding and all.

Yup, exactly what he said. It's all I use. Can even do it over D5 barbs, though much harder.

Metal barbs are easier than plastic. It's better if the barbs aren't very sharp though, so no risk of it eventually cutting the reeeeeellly tiiiiiiiiiggggghhhhtttt tubing.

No problem, heck I've even put 1/2" tubing on a 3/4" barb. I put 7/16" tubing on 5/8" barbs all the time.

Just prestretch the end a little with some square or needle noze plyers a few times in different directions.

It works really well..

Yeah with my 7/16 tubing i just put some distilled water and some Swiftech coolant at the end and Voila! lol :)

there is 1/4 but not sure why you'd want that small.

what is smaller 7/16 or 3/8?

3/8 is smaller

sticking in 3/8 in 1/2 is tough but it depends on the thickness of the tube, if it's the thickness is bout 1/4in, u're gonna scald urself with the amount of hot water u're gonna use

i cant understand why would u guys use smaller tube? i tot larger ID gives more flow? tighter ID more head preasure?

1/16th difference

for putting 7/16th over 5/8 tee I put a teeny little bit of dish soap on the barb AND heat the tubing, Soap will get pushed up when putting tubing on, and wont get in loop, i think I saw this tip on this forum somewhere.

Either way, I use dish soap as well. It gets all bubbly too. Doesn't seem to have made any difference, it just stays bubbly for a day... but I also change my water ever 4 months, if it matters..

I can make tighter turns with 3/8" ID and 5/8" OD tubing. That is why I use it instead of larger ID tubing.

It's definately possible, used to do that myself.

Like suggested, plunge in boiling water for some 10-15 seconds and push firmly.

Exactly my reason as well for using 3/8" ID and 5/8" OD tubing due to my case routing challenges.

7/16= 1/8th less of 1/2 (8/16ths) so 3/8 = 7-3= 4 differance
wtf? Where are you pulling that calculation from? since you can multiply anything by one, (3/8)*(2/2)=(6/16). Then you subtract, so you get (7/16)-(6/16)=(1/16). You can't just do 7-3=4 so the difference is 4 over some random number

Here are a bunch of pictures of 3/8" tuning over 1/2" barbs. Some Primoflex silicon tubing used as well for the really tight turns on MOSFET blocks.
