I have a 4GB: 2 X 2GB kit.
I will be putting it into a Maximus SE mobo.
By default the voltage is higher than 1.80V supplied to the ram.
I have yet to power my mobo on for the first time.
Could I damage my ram by over-volting it on the initial power up?
I have CM2X2048-6400C5DHX XMS2-6400 2048MB 800MHz 5-5-5-18 1.80v ver1.2 07384754.
I will only have 1 stick in until I install the hot fix for Vista, and will then take my system to 4GB's.
This is my first build, so I hope this 4GB works just fine with the Maximus SE.
A link to my system if you care to take a peak: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=160606
Any help or comments are welcome. ;)
If you are familiar with the Maximus SE, any recommendations for settings or tips, for using this ram with that board?
** Opps: Update - The Maximus SE defaults to 1.8v on it's initial power up, so over-volting the ram should not be an issue!
