View Full Version : Is there such thing as a GOOD, STABLE SLI capable board?

I've been through almost every iteration of the earlier 680 and 650 boards including the EVGA, Asus p5n32-e sli plus, p5n32 e, striker, p5n-e, etc. Every single one had bizzare issues be it memory divider quirks/incompatibility, buring up memory, running so frigging hot I had to spend $100 on north and southbridge cooling (P5n32-e sli plus), and a host of other problems.

I finally gave up and bought a p5k deluxe and haven't looked back. Got an extra 200mhz out of my chip compared to every other 680/650 board and it's been 100% stable. Rock frigging solid and much faster than the other bug ridden boards.

I find myself in the situation now where I want to grab another 8800gtx and run it in SLI until I can step up with EVGA to the new high end part whenever it's going to come out. The only problems is that I need a SLI capable motherboard.

So quite frankly, are there any SLI capable motherboards that will still be able to run my e6700ES at 3.8ghz, not hate my 4x 1g OCZ Pc1066 (Micron D9), and be not bluescreen for fun?

Thanks in advance.

I don't see how the Striker didn't pull that one off ? it ran my E6600 at 3.8Ghz without a hitch but I need to put the ram in sync with the FSB to get it supersmooth... so I reduced the timings on my OCZ PC8500 SLI ram to 4-4-4-12 at 850Mhz...
