Guys, this only fixes vista issues in the first place. As such, there's no need for a XP version of the driver.

the rest of us dont need new drivers since the ones right now works. the vista ones needed work though since i was using vista a month ago and it was buggy and would make my headphone make a loud pitched noise. doesnt do that in xp

QFT!

The issue occurs in operating systems other than vista. I.E. XP, XP64, Server 2003, Server 2008.

As I've stated, mine is onboard. My other X-Fi is in an XP rig. I like it for gaming, as that's what I do with my computer. Ergo, I asked if this update worked with the onboard, as not all releases have supported it.

what issue?

Some people, me included, would install the latest drivers, restart and have static throughout headphones and speakers, resulting in having to downgrade the drivers. A lot of people had this problem with 4gb on p35 chipsets.

First of all, I do. And secondly... have you ever gotten those drivers to work?

Judging from the Creative support forum as well as other forums on the net, I don't think anyone has ever gotten X-Fi to actually work under Linux.

Creative's driver support is very low all around.
