Any idea what this means? It has to do with either my cpu or motherboard. I get this any time I try to run the cpu at the rated speed or higher. I have an Epox 8kha+ w/ a T-bird 1.4Ghz cpu. If I run at the rated 133x10.5 I get it. I tried 100x14, 140x10 and various other higher speeds and I almost constantly get this error. I can run everything fun with any fsb as long as I keep the mult low enough that it's running under 1.4Ghz... Defective mobo? cpu? It's been like this since I bought it almost a year ago I guess... I don't remember why I didn't return it but it's too late now... It was OEM anyway, and I don't even remember where I bought it. I'm getting a new system soon but I'm still looking to see if I can get this one running decent.

What kind of cooling are you using, and what are your temps (you can check them in the BIOS if windows is crashing to soon)

Air cooling. Max I've seen my temps get is 52C which I know is really high... Average of I'd say 47C or so, but this is with 1.85Vcore and 158FSB (x8.5mult) which is what I run it at. I forgot to mention I've tried all sorts of different voltages too.

Hehe, technicaly I can write up to two pages on that one error or feature:p
Nothing is defective... just not clockin anymore. Try to reset your bios setings and try another go...

Malecky, I've reset bios and cmos a zillion times since I've had it and it's never worked. Not once.

Svenn, the default voltage for a 1.4ghz CPU is 1.75v... try turning your voltage down to 1.75.
And i'm sure you probably have tried this, but try a couple different BIOS revisions and see what happens.

I've tried all different bioses and I've tried 1.75v too. I've tried all combinations of voltage I could think of for the cpu and ram... nothing.

I think it's probably your RAM. Can ypou try a different stick in your rig or try the stick that you have installed in another computer?
Try running memtest86, and see if you get failures.

Also, try turning off all "shadowing" in the bios. Best of luck!

Well, the RAM can handle up to about 165FSB at aggressive timings... I just have to drop the multiplier to make the cpu speed under 1.4Ghz to get the computer to work though...

Is the RAM prime95 stable or memtest stable at 160MHZ? Try stressing the memory overnight at 133MHZ.
Well, if it's not the RAM, then the next things I'd suspect would be
1. L1/L2 cache on CPU
2. AGP card
3. Realy bad device driver

Check to see if there are IRQ conflicts between your ACPI controller and other devices or try turning off ACPI in bios and see if that resolves it.
Worth a shot.

play around with your bios settings... i was getting this error with my brothers ak31 mobo and i left on bios shadow and it was fixed.. just play around with different settings
