I have a second SATA drive and I can't format it because it's not showing up in my computer.

Although it does show up in device manager but I can't format it form there.

It's a 320GB seagate.

Windows XP.

Someone please help.

run -> diskmgmt.msc
do you see the disk somewhere? your 80gig should be disk0, and the 320gig disk1

Agreed - I have had this happen to me many times, this is sure to fix it - if you have had another drive at the "next assigned drive letter" previously, I think it breaks it - happens all the time with USB keys. Just right click the drive in diskmgmt, "set drive letter" > "format" and you are good, I hope :)

Make sure it is detected from BIOS, then go to Windows.

check your hdd jumper settings.
AFAIK, SATA devices don't need to set any jumper.

Yup; this is just happening because you have not formatted the drive yet.
