Hello, I have noticed on EVGA`s message board that some people are having problems with there new 8800 GT`s posting. They get black screens. The most common issue is they have a ABIT P35, and IP35-E. I have a IP35-E and placed a order for a EVGA 8800 GT SSC. I am a little concerned. Some think it might be a issue with the being a Gen2PCIe card ? Is this a known issue w/ P35 boards other than Abits? And is Abit working on any Bios updates for possible a PCI Gen2 issue?
Your help would be appreciated

I have an ABIT AW9D MAX and the EVGA 8800 GT 512. It didn't post until I used the cheapo molex for the aux power for the card. The Antec PS SLI cable made just for gfx card didn't seem to work. Put the cheapo one in and bam.....
No worries

That is odd, I had no problems with my IP35 Pro and 8800GT.

Of course it didn't post at first and gave me this horrendously loud beep, but I forgot to plug in the power connector

Is the First Init. Display Device (or similar) BIOS setting set to PCI or PEG? You could try setting it to PEG to see if that helps.

I was having the black screen errors till I replaced the stock cooling with a Zalman VF-900. After that no more lockups, black screens ect... Also these issues could be with ppl trying to O/C to far. My Evga SSC edition only can do 675 on the core, up from 650 stock. shader can clock up to around 1800.
