UH... Oh...

This is definitely not a sprint. We're not going to be able to put enough inventory to meet demand in North America or Europe this calendar year or this fiscal [year]. - EA boss John Riccitiello.

Yea, that means short supply till March 2008.

I'm buying it, and I bet many other people on here are doing so. Dont base a games worth off of your own opinion. I know 4 other people who are buying it.

I remember reading about this game a while ago. Looks like a good idea. The game must be very costly with all the hardware though. Seems like it was a good idea on paper anyway.

Aye. If you haven't been following GH1/2, or aren't a fan of the franchise, then stfu and gtfo the thread.

The developers aren't 100% there by choice. Harmonix/Red Octane got bought by MTV, so that means those who broke away to create GHIII had to rebuild it. So, in reality, rock band is basically just GH + Other instruments + vocals.

Harmonix wasn't interested in developing a third installment of Guitar Hero even before they were bought, they wanted to branch off on their own and create their own franchise, this opportunity presented itself through MTV, and they took it, hence Rock Band.

Red Octane, only being a peripheral manufacturer, then employed Neversoft to develop Guitar Hero 3. Not exactly something I agree with, but hey, no developer can fill Harmonix' shoes.

Is Rock band going to be a console only deal, or will it be available for th ePC as well? I would LOVE to have it setup on my notebook and rock out with some TV out LOL!

I suspect not, traditionally these games are designed for consoles, I doubt there's enough interest to warrant a PC port.

I know Guitar Hero 3 is for the PC, so hopefully they will do the same for Rock Band.

Yep played it today..OMG drums are hard!

Yah seriously if your a music fan then you will really have fun with this game. The biggest downfall i see is that you have to pay for downloadable songs.

I am sure they will do promotional free downloads or something. But it is only to be expected to pay for them. You would pay to download music 'legally'. And eventually they said it would be around $0.99 a song which isn't bad at all. I myself have already bought many songs for Rock Band. The Metallica pack is awesome and very challenging.
