Just wondering if anyone out there is as much of a fan of this series of games as i am. I was cheering to hear they are now releasing yet another amazing installment!

I love the LS1 type motors. GM really hit the sweet spot for HP/TQ.

SUCKS! I don't quite understand why but the "hard" mode is easier than the "medium" mode, assists wise. Go figure. Driving the E92 M3 is sweet, driving it in the desert drag race with 7 cars in front of you mode is not sweet. Not what I expected from a new NFS :(
it's amazing how that lot can manage, or DOES manage almost every time to make a promising title into some kinda junk that still gets bought by a bazillion people, despite knowing better. gotta preorder now :D (j/k)

Need for speed without cops is like Castlevania without dracula
i liked all NFS, including NFS Underground 1 - i liked the new taste!
Underground 2 looked promising 'OMG FREE ROAM' but ended up being the same sshiet, and all NFS became is another cashcow for EA.

mine too... after that, it kinda got lame... i mean the best part of the first few NFS games were driving exotics in long winding country like roads... not riced out compact cars through a big city...

The PC demo I had was corrupted so I played the demo on my 360... it was very fun, but the difficulty was too easy. I won the race mode by 25 seconds on King difficulty, with clutch manual... :(
the game was easy, there's a huge a++ steering lag and the damage model is retarded. could've just as well left it altogether. it does look nice though. oh and the announcer is like will someone please maje that guy shut the f up? k thx bye.
performance is also pretty good, but then again, the demo was mostly wide open territory. oh btw. what was the 2nd race about? was i supposed to go drifting with the gtr or what? because just driving around was rather boring, and the steering lag was way apparent. tapping he brakes and not seeing the brakelights come on (for some time).. wow.. bad!
as i said somewhere else on this forum. they manage to do it everytime. take something that could potentially be really good and fark it up bad. then release it.

Thats too bad, I had the same problem with my 6600GT on TD:U... you probably need a new card... or another 7600 for SLI... :)

I hated the NFS games before NFSU came out. MW was ok, I havent played carbon tho. I may give this one a try
This game was alot of fun, im going to actually pick this one up.....

The smoke effects have to be seen though, they are really good. I am in it for the drag racing so I hope I am not let down. I play Test Drive: Unlimited and have been having alot of fun with it despite the lackluster multiplayer interactivity of it. Its supposed to be like an MMO on wheels but there so few players ever on that I can hardly ever challenge people in an online race. Let's hope Pro Street is better.

a game where you could get chased by cops, and NOT have to worry about getting a ticket in the mail............
HA.........we can only wish that someone would put out a game where it has decent physics, cars are customizable, the sound track rocks, you can turn your head free mode while in the car and actually get a "feel" for real driving. Take damage from realistic effects, AND have free roam, drag racing, "illegal" street racing, and maybe even track racing...............
did I miss something?
Oh, and last for more then say 20-30 races.......oh wait an open ending, or if you go multiplayer, coop for running from the cops? multiplayer drag race, where you can run with other drivers and each has a chance to be caught, that would be sweet for team work, as well as talking trash about other cars.
Maps based on actual cities? Custom maps? So we could see who the real Bad a$$ in our own area............
Maybe even an option for damage and what not, that if you wreck your car, you DIE! meaning you lose your character, and if not, at least you car gets totaled.
One last thing..............semi decent AI for traffic.

I would totally agree Porsche Unleashed was for sure the best NFS made. I think the newer titles took away quality car control in favor of arcade like flavor. I have played almost all of them including the demo for pro street on my xbox360 and I liked the controls. The scenes from the dessert there, the control is a little arcadish, but still a lot better than in the past. The GT-R drives well too, and the feel is much better if you turn off a lot of the child assist stuff.

Lol if you beat the first raceday and spend your 30grand on upgrading that 240sx of yours (btw, 240sx is way weaker/sloppier/overall worse then a cobalt rofl? these guys r on crackzors) with performance only tuning (that is, if you won a car and sold it for some more cash), you can pwn the next grip race and catch up to several guys from your group 1 LAP AHEAD :rofl: :ROTF: - i love racing with a 170hp 240sx vs 400hp tuners and roflpwning them : / - my granny can literally drive better (well she can drive better then most of you - she drives in Moscow, Russia :))
Balancing issues... I hope its not gonna b like previous nfs - everything is ez smooth, then at one point BAMZOR, tiny little neons develop ultra grip tires and jet engines, accelerating 2x faster then your tuned out carrera gt and taking pinhead corners @ 150km/h...

I just got from playing this game on a friends 360, god what a pile of crap. First off the gameplay is just ugh, not half as exciting as fixed corse racing should be. Secondly the graphics are still garbage, years behind GT or PGR just like I saw on the PC demo. Thirdly, this is another NFS where customizing is completely wasted... You upgrade, all your opponents get magically faster, you don't they stay easy.
The worse thing about this game, is EA managed to strip out all the illegal hubbub about street racing culture... While still managing to preserve if not extravagate, the amount of blood curdling riceyness... :sick:

this game sucks so hard it isnt worth the space on my HD.
On the positive side the cars have nvr looked so good and i can play the game with everything on high and stil get 60fps striaght.
The smoke looks nice but thats about it.
They shouldnt have called it NFS Pro Street but NFS Vista.
This cause everytime u click soemthing it asks you if ur shure. And it may be a lame complaint but the menu is to complex they could have done it way easier, cause to just change 1 settings u have to make way to many clicks.
The upgrade thing also sucks cause u cant change anything on a car during a race day so when u find out that in drag race u come up short and u need to upgrade ur car then ul have to leave the race day wich means all the won races on the event will b reset so ul have to re-race them.
Ofc redoing a race usualy wouldnt be a problem but races in this game are damn boring.
Like come on how often can u race the same track. Ive been on race days were there were 3 diffrent races and all 3 used the same track. 2 of them were straight races for the 1st pos. and the 3rd was to drive the fastest lap time.
If the races were actualy a chalenge it wouldnt be so much of a pain but they arent. Ive won many races were my car was by far the slowest car on the track. How much fun isit if all the cars are way faster then you and drive u by on the straights but you stil manage to win the race in the first lap?
The AI cars can be way better then urs but like int he previous NFS games the AI often breaks in corners were i go flat out.
And besides that the stupid anouncer keeps hyping me. I just drove into a wall and he says how grt im doing :/.
seeing that this announcer keeps going on and on about me im afraid that he has the hots for me.
Im happy i didnt buy the game but borrowed it from my cousin who actualy likes the game :/.
This game is nothing but a quick cash in from EA mostly seeing the ads like during a loading screen were they ask u to call a phone number to win a NFS Cell Phone.
This game is fun, why is everyone hating it??? IMO its not that bad.

The game is awesome in my opinion. The graphics are simply amazing and i dont even have most the world details even turned on because my graphic card is holding me back.

Any one tried playing the game on PC with a Logitech G25? I found it odd how Carbon was on the officially supported games list but ProStreet PC wasn't.

I think its a pretty good game, but the physics could be better.
Also every NFS game since Carbon, online play sucks.

I can't think of an NFS game where online play has actually been not completely irritating and off-putting because of how complicated and unintuitive it is.
Motor City, maybe.
I think HP2 was okay too. Everything else, terrible.
