hmm difficult very small budget for a full over haul

what are your current specs?
is there no way you could stretch another 100E?

what are you looking to acheive from the upgrade

provisionally i would look to go

e2140
abit p35 (there is a cheap one around)
some geil ddr2 800 (get as much as you can afford)
and a 2900pro

i would look into getting a PSU as well but do not know your old rig

the system above has about as good upgrade potential as you could ask for

I'd get an E4400 for €100 + 2GBPC2-5300 for €50 + a P5K-VM for €110 and then use the integrated GFX until I had saved up the extra €40 to buy a HD2900Pro

Go for the HD 2600XT as when combined with a c2d, its performing on par with GTS now due to drivers, especially in dx9 which is what you'll be playing mostly since 128-bit cards weren't built to do high res dx10 gaming.

Also, the HD 2600xt (gddr3) should end up considerably cheaper.

thanks but i found that i can get Club 3D ATI HD2600XT, PCI-e, 256MB GDDR4, TV + 2DVI for 126,90 € so i think gddr4 is beather choice

e2160 9x may help as cheapy chips usually have fsb walls...
so that should guarantee 3-3.2+ GHz for very cheap.:)
u could be lucky and get to 3.4+ range
667 ddr2

p35 mobo as already mentioned.

Asus P5K,1gb of OCZ ram,E6550 this sounds alright..but id go for a better g card if possible.

say the cheapest of the 8800gt or 3850....and 2g's of 667 value ram....
you need more than 1g for games these days...and 1g with vista:doh:(forget it)

but it may break yr budget.
