Hi, Pete.

The iBookG4 has an IBM PowerPC processor. Is not an x86 processor, so it can't run XP. :(

only way to run xp on there is through a VM ontop of OS X
Still it is a very good lappy if you run Mac OS on it

Mac OS X is BSD based so might as well run it over Linux. Still has the shell and all.

No chance of running XP on it unless you use vmware.

OSX is based on unix and so is linux. Either will run good, but OSX is the preffered choice :)

If you prefer linux linux then Yellow Dog (YDL) and Mandrake both have PPC variants. I'd recommend YDL over Mandrake since it's updated more often (i.e. more than twice per decade).

Ubuntu also has a PPC version :) XP is impossible though:(
