heya; the winter is coming soon so are you preparing already?
i just installed my old ati rage 2 pci instead of my 7800gtx to get a better 12v line :P. the hdds have been changed to a single 5400rpm ide drive and the fan on the TRUE is now a papst multifan 4212/g.
what have you done? and if possible show us some teasers of what we´re going to see in the next months.
here´s a little teaser from me//not really good but whatsoever, the temps are still not subzero :D

I already turned off the heating in my room, and I only have a 7600 GT... Winter can come, most of the time the French window to my balcony is open, so I have a lot of fresh air in my room. Because fresh air is healthy! :D

I do most of this because I want Folding@Home to run a bit faster, if I can boost the clocks.

Greetings from Germany!

I'm stuck at my 2.81GHz, can't get higher because my memory kit is cheap and won't OC worth a crap and dividers can only get me so far. But because of the heat the crunchers put out I need the window open to keep it from getting too hot in the room :D

Is it ever cold in Australia? :)

Here in Scotland temps have dropped a fair bit already. Last month my ambient in room (radiator off, window open) was below 10 deg C. Should present some interesting opportunities :D

See what happens eh?

It is in southern parts, but not here.. 0c is the absolute lowest 'low' in this city during winters peak, I don't think we hit that low at all this year.. only in land a bit :) daytime winter ambients 15 - 20

What? It's been colder than usual this summer? But what about global warming? :p:

sorry just had to...

Ha, I wish it had an effect on our temps. If anything its just rained more (ice caps melting, amg!)

Definately had global warming here this summer. 3wks of 100+ straight. Finally in the 40s in the am now. Brought a tear to my eye to see the cpu temp at 30C without the AC turned on, lol

same here, the air gets really horrid if the window is closed, on the brighter side - thanks to that, I dont need almost any additional heating in my room

If I moved inland, I could have -20 to -30C outdoors quite regularly during the best overclocking months of January and February:D However, regularly below zero will have to do, and perhaps a few weeks of down to -15 out here by the coast.
I need to buy a few more feet of tubing and insulation, and I could try putting the radiator in the window for some first time below zero action.

I need to move to Australia. Im lucky if our summer temps hit 15 degrees during the day :( Really?

One of the coldest places in NA on Melville Island, High Arctic camp (Arctic) even hit 22C this July. 15-17C above average summer temp. :yepp:

It was 17C Glasgow a month ago and 12C there now. It hit 23-25C for about 10 days in North GB when I was there in April, 10C above average. But yeah, Winter couldn't have come faster, although its been too wet for my liking.

I was maybe being a little pessimistic, but its rarely ever sunny/warmer than 20 ish where I live.

Had approx, and no joke, 10 days of Sunshine this year so far. Hardly any of them were in the summer months. Usually its mostly like what it is now, slightly chilly and overcast. I can only speak for where I stay though.

Here in Alaska, we already have snow. Not to cold yet....18F this morning. Last winter we had 3 weeks straight of 35-40 below.

I'm presently living in Northeastern Japan... very long, somewhat cold winter. Hovers around 32F/0C most of the time but there are FEET of snow at a time. I keep my PC by the window, but honestly ambient air temp doesn't have that huge an effect on my overall temps. The fact I'm using liquid cooling keeps the temperatures rather stable, so it takes a pretty huge ambient air temp change to affect my final temps.
