I had everything set up on my test bench: Windows installed fine, everything running PERFECTLY.

Today I picked up my case and installed everything. Turn it on, it posts, then I get an error message saying "Disk boot failure, yadda yadda." Now keep in mind, I didn't change anything since disassembling the gear and placing it into the case.

I tried to install XP again on a blank drive I have, and setup tells me it can't find a HD. When I try the drive I orginally had XP installed on, I get the same message.

This is what I've tried so far, nothing works:
1. Different SATA cable
2. Different SATA power cable
3. Different SATA ports on MB
4. Reinstalling XP on drive "A" (had XP on it), setup can't detect HD.
5. Reinstalling XP on drive "B" (blank, new drive), setup cant' detect HD.
6. Cleared CMOS
7. Reset jumper
8. Removed MB battery for 5 minutes
9. Different PSU, can post, but either "Disk boot failure" message or "Windows setup can't detect HD"

I'm at a loss, ready to break something in half. Sad thing is, I had it OC'd to 3.55 and stable on prime for 9 hours.

Someone give me something to try, please. I'm gonna call Gigabyte tech in the morning, but hopefully someone will have some ideas before I get on the phone with them.

Thank you in advance.

Unless you have two bad drives which is highly unlikely you should look into RMAing the board because it could be bad SATA headers.

poke around in bios. see if bios is seeing the drives.

No, BIOS only showed the CD rom drive.

Is the board fugged?

That's my only guess. To be sure it's not the drives plug them into another computer and run diagnostic tests on them.

So assuming the board is bad, is it possible that all 6 SATA ports went bad at once?

Will it detect an IDE Dirve?
