I just got the Thermalright SLK900-U and a 92mm fan, IMO it's still pretty quiet. But you could always get a smaller, quieter 80mm fan to slap on the SLK.

Get a slower 92mm, its bigger so it wont make as mcuh noise, just get a slower moving one, itll be quieter than most half decent 80mm's

probably Zalman 7000CU, pretty damn quiet at lowest fan speed

Try using the FAN EQ on the IC7 in the bios, under the PC Health section....set it to 60 or 70% to slow the fan down....the Intel is quite a bit quieter that way.......Much too whiney otherwise.
Are you still waiting on the XE m8??

I own a Zalman and I love it: I only can say good things about it. The fan runs max at 2700 rpm.

I'm running the zalman at 1,800rpm and is fully stable with my 800mhz overclock, very quiet

For a fan, I'd get a Panaflo. They're supposed to push the most air with the least noise. Their dBA & CFM ratings aren't the best, but it's because they are honest while other manufacturers inflate their ratings.

panaflos are very nice fans, but their 92mm fans aren't too great.

you could always pick up a 92mm tornado and a Rheobus and adjust it down to your liking.

get a zalman flower and instead of using stock fan, do a side panel mod and mount a 120 mm panaflow over the proc. Its quiet and i get good performance. My fullload temps on the AGOIA 1600 @ 1780 are 36-42*C
