OK, so I'm going to have a large fan in my watercooling box; 8.5 inches in diameter in fact. Since the blades are aluminum, I'm real scared about someone getting very hurt, so I need a fan grill. Have any ideas of what I could do? I have a shop, so I can machine metal to a certain extent, but I want this to look good as well as be functional. Maybe there's some sort of material I can fill the gap with that would look good?

Thanks guys!

Guess you could use expanded metal mesh. The "lightest," most open you can find. Home Depot or a local hardware store...

get a sheet of aluminum and cut out the outside of the fan grill like the ring part and the 4 screws that it screws onto the fan with, and then take the mesh from a window screen and put it in the middle

I would get some stuff like this, and cut it to fit the fan. You could even get creative and make a nice design out of it:)
