I just got my chipset block today and popped it on. fired up the systems and my CPU temp went up 3degreesC.
im running an tbredB1700+ (11.5X222) = 2.57GHZ. 1.93Vcore, 1.7VDD.

im going to do a vddmod in the future. think the chipset being watercooled is necessary? (im on an abit nf7-s).

Yes, I think it is necessary.

if you do the vdd mod id suggest to watercool the nb or get a good old cpu hsf for it (probably noisy and with watercooling you dont need to have a bad consciene about the nb running hot ,so id go h20)

well it's watercooled now :> i was just wondering whether i was just being paranoid or my concerns were valid :>

well once you raise vdd to 2v+ you should watercool it i think... your not paranoid, there are some guys who wanna pelt their nb with a 172W tec... THATS paranoid! :rotf:

EDIT: btw, if the nb gets warmer than 60°C the image starts to flicker like tv with a broken tv cable :p: or it gets black for some miliseconds, or you get a blue screen of death.

i think its impossible to kill the nb with too much voltage, you can only kill it with too much heat.

(well i know one guy who set the vdd to 2.6v and that killed the board... not sure if it was the voltage or the heat but i wouldnt go over 2.2v for everyday use anyways)

once i get my waterchiller done im going to vdd mod and push the vdd to probably 2v. :>

Looks like you're good to go to me.

The 3C rise in your CPU is due more to the added restriction in the cooling loop than it is due to heat added from the NB.

Turn err up!

Where is the nb in your loop?
Is it before or after the cpu?

right now it's before the cpu.
i had it setup to be after the CPU, but had to change the flow direction of my pump because of a screw-up. i'll be changing it when i get my waterchiller:>
kind of off-topic, but would my eheim 1048 be able to handle being submersed in chilled water? (about -10c)

It's normal to see an increase in cpu termp as the nb hots the water entering the cpu wb, switch the nb block after the cpu and you'll see a drop in temp
