i got an l627A too, doing 3.5ghz @ 1.384v 24/7 (that's with p5k, it needed a bit less with p5b dlx)

max i have done is 551*7 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v185/spnikks/sPi551.jpg) spi 1m and 3.8ghz 06 in sig all on air

very nice chips:D

thanks for the comments guys :) I'll be getting another motherboard soon I'd like to see 533 FSB from it stable.

Spectrum48 - 551 FSB is awesome  What vNB did it take on the P5B-deluxe to get it over 500 FSB? What vNB for 551? im asking as i think im chipset limited.

Nice clocks :toast:

I got a 6300 L627A too that I bought in fs. It too will clock 3500@1.38v. That was a very good batch.

551mhz was done @ 1.65vNB (bios). max fsb i 've ever done with it is 554mhz (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v185/spnikks/FSB554.jpg), also @ 1.65vNB.
it needed 1.45vNB to be 100% stable @ 500mhz, which was good up to 533mhz 3D benchable (haven't tested for 100% stability above 500mhz)

with the p5k for 500mhz stable i don't have to raise any chipset voltages, but from a little testing i have done, it still maxes out @ ~550mhz:(
but i have to wait for winter to see how it really does with the p5k, as it's still too hot for any serious testing

nice man. im just getting into the overclocking and achieved 3.2ghz so far stable, gonna try pushing it further.

but you got alot of extra power there for bugger all!! nice one

sounds like you arent familiar with humor.

pop along to your local store and treat yourself to sense of humor, your live may improve! avoid budget or store brands though, they arent as good as they claim

Timbosan, how did you set small ffts in orthos to go up to 64K? Did you edit something or newer orthos? I can do it via custom, but havent figured out how to do change the small ffts out of standard 8K min to 8K max.

Thats an unmodded small FFT run. I did download newest version available.

Im pretty happy with it now but i wanna get a P-35 chipset board and give it a go then. I think i have fried my P5B vanilla after a couple of runs @ 1.6v + vNB :( It still works but i had the vNB at 1.44v and when i played an mp3 the sound was skipping....it had never done that before......dropped vNB to 1.38v rebooted and its ok but im hesitant to give it high volts 24/7 - i think i'd need 1.6v + to get 500 MHz stable out of my board.

and yes, L627A pwns :)

Nice clocks guys, 500 FSB at 1.38v is awesome. Im jealous! :)

im jealous too

i cant get 9x400 so far let alone more. still messing with voltages so there may be hope yet .... but i really do doubt it. still anything extra for free cant be grumbled at

Any chance you remember where you downloaded it? I saw another person apparently using same version, so must be somewhere, but cant seem to find it. Or which version?

btw... nice chip.

My E6300 (L625A712) setup is Orthos stable at 450FSB x 7 with only 1.27v under load. The vDimm is at 1.9v. At 490FSB x7 it shows a stable 1.344v under load. I could post my screenies, but frankly I don't run my system at 100% for extended periods. It runs all the programs and tests I use at these voltages stably, so I am happy. My maximum o/c is 533FSB = 3720 MHz.

I agree with you on that. I didn't take the new car I bought out and run it wide open for 6-8-10-12-24 hours it see if it was stable enough to get me to the store and work and stable enough to beat the guy at the stop light to the next one.

most i can get out of my e6600 is 3.2ghz (400x8) @ 1.45v core. like many i am jealous of many other overclocking results.

if i clock mine higher it crashes upon loading the OS. however at 3.2ghz i can run orthos for hours at priority 9 without any probs. still 800mhz for free cant be grumbled at but would have really liked 9x400.

dont be disheartened man, you got speeds equivelant of more expensive chip. i just wished i clocked mine last christmas when i built it

Booted My E6300 @ 3.5GHz 500fsb, but crashed after a few minutes. Check the Asus control panel and it seems that my north bridge is heating up way too much. Instead of modding it, i think its a wise desision to upgrade to the P5K-E.

however, i also run it for 24+ hours and my voltage is (i haven't seen any other at 3500 with so little voltage) lower

karateo, i have not seen anyone get an e6300 3.5GHz stable at 1.35v often, i think you, dinoss22 and JmaxOC have achieved it. Very good work. Generally a higher priority is a better test. However mine at 1.35v would not run orthos at priority 7, so i can say your cpu is better

nice clock, especially for the volts. Im running my e6300 at 511 right now, but the voltage is considerably higher. I couldn't get far at all without really pushing the volts on mine.

to think what i paid for my e6600 at the beginning of the year and some are clocking their e6300 at 3ghz or higher .... arrrggghhh the money i could have saved!!

makes me wish i had looked into overclocking way back then, its only been overclocked for a few weeks now :(

my 6300 did 3.9ghz (560fsb) stable at 1.57vcore on a freezer 7 pro,in a p5b-dlx board.

http://img.techpowerup.org/070920/6300.jpg

That is an awesome result, i think thats the highest air cooled e6300 i have seen  Best so far is ~540 FSB water cooled @ ~1.45v. Should do around 3.7 with ~1.48v yeah? damn good cpu mate  :)

What do you run it at 24/7?

TI66ER
09-23-2007, 05:59 AM
it runs at 3.5ghz(500fsb) at 1.325vcore,with mem at 4.4.4.12 2.25vmem fine,for 24/7.

i am just about to change tho' to a asus p5k-premium/E6750.

the e6300/p5b-dlx combo was absolutley awesome, the only thing that let me down was the ram.it would'nt run higher than 1120mhz.

Would be interesting to say if that given vcore is set in BIOS or just shown in the monitoring software.

Like: mine is set @1.3500v in BIOS and shows @1.330v at the voltage monitoring software (EasyTune5).

I don't want to sound silly and obvious, but you can't always trust what you motherboard says about voltages. From all quality motherboards I had so far, the one which had most accurate readings was a DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D. Nearly no difference from the readings of my digital multimeter.

Apart from the hardware monitoring chip discrepancies, many times there is a software error or inaccurate reading. CPU-Z is "dumb" about vcore many times. I'm not saying it's the case.

In bios i have set 1.3875v in cpuz & all vcore monitoring apps i get 1.376v (idle) and 1.384v (load) and with dmm i get 1.383v (load) so dmm & cpuz almost the same.
