Heylooo :)

I know, I know... It's QX6850 ES and some of you might tell me to "buzz off and come back with Retail CPU" but this is all I had a chance to play with a while ago - not much choice here. Below results still have some value, right? :buddies:

Anyway, it all started about 6 weeks ago when I popped one of those QX6850 in and, taking a little break from DDR3 stuff, I wanted to see how far those babies go on air cooling, courtesy of Tuniq Tower 120. What I was after? Highest CPU frequency for SuperPi 32M, then highest speed for "4 cores stress" benchmarks, plus highest FSB MHz. In the end, I checked out how this setup handles 4x1GB of some high performance DDR2...

Below are the fruits of my on-and-off messing around with this setup. Left-click any of the screenshots for larger version. I hope some of you will enjoy checking it out :D

Intel Core2 Quad QX6850 ES, 1333MHz FSB
Asus P5K Deluxe (unmodded), BIOS 0501
Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF
eVGA 8800GTS 640MB Superclocked
Tuniq Tower 120, about 19C ambient temperature
Corsair HX620
Winows XP Professional 32-bit

very nice cpu there... especially the 11m 48s 32M run :)

only could find this one to compare with Q6600 B3 ES L632A*** on Corsair Nautilus 500

If my QX6850 ES G0 (which is still on the way) comes even close to those clocks on my water system, I'd be more than thrilled.

Nice clocking chip there Bachus:clap:

I know your results are not common....but heres to hoping for the best :D

I remember you had some water-cooled results at over 4.1GHz on Blitz Extreme - not Nautilus ones. Unless, you're referring to DDR2 only stuff :)

Nice clocking chip there Bachus:clap: I know your results are not common....but heres to hoping for the best :DYou know what, Mike... I think these would be quite common, especially on WC. There is another QX6850 ES I currently use in the lab "some" DDR3 board but it went to at least 3.9GHz @ 1.45v for quad-core benchmarking on Corsair Nautilus. I haven't pushed it much higher, as it was not really a goal. Those CPUs are probably not that much better than some Q6600, but unlocked multipler comes handy. I'm sure you're will even be better

Yeah referring to DDR2 for direct comparison not the DDR3 stuff which also did 11min 48s (http://fileshosts.com/intel/Asus/BlitzExtreme/g4storm/q6600_L725A903/ocz/platinum/14400/9x/1_2divider/455-910_76518_1t_54812105_1.65-635-1.4-1.65-2.2-1.125-1.5_srdwoff_tblvl0/spi32m_11m48s031ms_coretemp.png) but at 9x455FSB = 4095Mhz with ram at 910mhz 7-6-5-x
