As I have a planed high end 2P workstation to be built soon. I might delay it if AMD are planing to release a 65nm chipset á la RX790.
Those Nvidia chipsets are all hot like hell. And are the only thing that I donīt like about the AMD server platform.

And yeah, I donīt want the Fx 4*4. I want ecc/reg dimms.

The world needs AMD server chipsets!

Ps. Donīt flame if itīs already in the know. I donīt have the time to keep up in the news section and Tyan etc donīt show anyting but NV boards. ds

i can imagine that you could kludge an AMD/ATI chipset to workstation levels but, why?

Because they are way more efficent than NV chipsets and Iīm all about low power and I want to cut the Watts down to a minimum on this work station and as chipsets vary in efficiency just as any other component and can have quite an effect on the total power consumption.
With RD580 AMD/ATI impressed with low power. RX790 looks to be a winner also and I hope theyīll soon bring it to the server platform.
