TEST SETUP
Gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6 (DDR3 only) Motherboard >> updated to latest F3 bios
4GB kit Corsair 1600MHz 7-7-7-20 DDR3 RAM
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 L626Bxxx CPU
PCI nvidia MX400 GFX card
Nvidia 8800GTS 320MB PCIe GFX card
Corsair Nautilus 500 Watercooler
80GB SADA MAxtor HDD
620W Corsair HX620 PSU
Windows XP Pro 32-bit
Keep in mind that these superpi results were obtained with 333 strap , no transaction booster control , Performance Level = 8, 2T Command Rate, and not fully tweaked yet >>> and it was still mighty fast  close to efficiency of DDR2 600MHz 4-4-4-x
^^^^ incidentally these are the suggestion aside from a couple of others i've asked Gigabyte engineers to implement in a bios

How does this motherboard fair against the Asus P5B DLX i tested this CPU on last time which was a great CPU OCer
4150MHz 32M SuperPi but with much faster time this time round as Asus was suffering from crappy RAM ratios and this is another massive advantage DDR3 brings >>> YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO STUGGLE WITH RAM RATIOS AND SPEEDS WITH MASSIVE FSB OCs
http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/2675/4150mhz32msuperpi830mhzaa6.png
well it's exactly the same......extremely solid board this gigabyte i am really shocked how much better it is that the old P965 ds3 crap heheh

PBs all round for me except for '06 as i've gotten a fair bit more points due to extra 2xcores heh

Nice benches. :toast:
I just hate thinking about springing for the ram when I have so much cheap DDR2 laying around. :(

yup cost always plays a role for mainstream but XS is a different story :)
gains in lots of benchmarks can be seen.......

got a new bios to test F4a :) will see how that goes
also spotted an interesting thing while benching
i had a couple of CPUs lying around on the keyboard or whatnot and noticed the difference between them
check it out
left one is celeron 460 and right one quad core Q6600
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7683/quadpcbthickerthancelerbo3.jpg
looks like the PCB is different on the quads :D

holy... these are 2x2GB kits?!
i don't even want to ask how much these would cost right now...
holy = amazing, unbelievable :D
Nice results
DDR3 is VERY strong
And ****ing expensive too :(

nice results man.
that memory looks very nice, 2GB sticks with sub 8 timings..thats pretty damn impressive
now only if the stuff would drop to a sane price

now only if the stuff would drop to a sane priceyeah that's what i'm thinking
i've tested it now on a couple of boards and even on boards that don't officially support this ram at stock timings and speeds it did them without any pain whatsoever
i even managed to tighten it real nice
i didn't want to bother with CAS8 as it makes no difference to me ...... cas7 is where the performance is at with DDR3 i think....some benchmarks may also benefit from 6-5-5 but i reckon high clocking 7-6-5 is the way to go much like 4-4-4-x on DDR2
next thing i want to check is how low the vdimm will go for stock timings and speed.......:)

So, Gigabyte's motherboard is pretty good after all, isn't it? :) Great numbers and fast 32Ms, dinos
As for "Performance Level" as seen in MemSet... Have you tried more aggressive selections under Performance Enhance option in BIOS (can't remember exact name, it's above memory ratios)? Default is "Standard" and then "Turbo" and "Extreme". If not, try it. The same effect as on Asus boards with Transaction Booster...
Me wants Dinos hand me downs :ROTF:
Nice scores m8

Can't go wrong with Micron based RAM.... plus Gigabyte is no slouch but you inspired me with your runs to tweak it some more and see how much i can squeeze out. Now we just need Command Rate in bios and it should fly heh
i will take some screenshots of the bios selection as that may help others tweak the RAM
and to answer your questions they were all set to the max :D
problem with gigabyte board i encountered is the PL cannot be lowered to 7x unless i drop the FSB to ~470 but as you know superpi has enornmous benefit from FSB with P35 chipset which is good and bad news..............good news as there is a gain........bad news is trying to spend :banana::banana::banana:loads of money now for a CPU capable of monster FSB :D >>>
i am prepared to do lap dances people for a highFSB CPU now hahahahhaha
Me wants Dinos hand me downs :ROTF:
Nice scores m8
