View Full Version : TTGI P/S Voltages Readings?

I just bought the TTGI 520-watt power supply and I've noticed some different voltage readings. Can someone please tell me if the +12, +5, and +3.3 readings look right? (because they don't to me) What is the +12v reading supposed to be?

I went from a 300w to 500w and thought I'd get better results. My +5 went from 4.79 to 4.84/89.

Here are the specs:
+3.3V-----28.0A
+5Vsb----3.0A
+5V-------52.0A
-5V--------0.5A
+12V------20.0A
-12V------0.8A

I just opened my case and this what's printed

3.3+ and 5+ 260
12+ 240

then you have the smaller voltages adding up to 500.

Should I RMA?

hmmm sounds like it needs to be modded on 5v rail.

the ttgi psu's are suspose to be strong work horses...

do you have side mounted fans????

that will give you a diff reading then a stock case with no side vents or fans

are they located over your sensor?... either they work that good or they are falsly cooling the sensor alone.

Good Point.
Any mobo cpu probe sencer will run cooler with the more air flow around it. Your right, but it also helps cool the Heatsink so the chip is going to be cooler. Yea the Mobo sencer's are useless when air cooling. They do run a bit more accurate when sealed up in a Pelt/ Waterblock situation though.

Yeah I bought the wrong fan for my new AX-7. I just ordered a Tornado from newegg. Got an Antec 80 on there right now.

Well, I had to RMA my KX7 today. :( Put in my old KT7A and the voltages looked okay. Maybe it was the mobo.

I think the last KX7 MrIcee purchased had voltage problems as well. I don't think it is the power supply but probably was the motherboard if voltages on the KT7A looked better.

DaGooch is right:)

I checked by measuring my +12v and +5v rails off of a molex connector...I had 12.07 and 5.26 respectively. After going thru the boards regulation it was showing 4.99 and 11.55v in MBM. The board was completely unstable in O/Cing situations. My board from OPP is better but my first board was the best...it showed 5.21v and 11.98v in MBM..and was a premier O/Cing board. I've yet to get another that was as stable at a top overclock as that one:)

Did you have a lot of flux? Mine would range anywhere between 4.78-4.89. I checked and I have the kx7 with the big silver capacitors near the agp.

If my new p/s fails, I'll just turn the pots.

kt133 is killing me!

Yes...there will be flucuations...slight at idle..and a big swing from idle to load and vice versa. My worst board had the Rubycon caps...my best board and OPP's board have the big silver Nichicons. It is unusual for the Nichicon version to have such low voltages....I'm not sure whats going on with Abit and their QC...because every board I've had since # 1 has been worse than # 1..progressively lower voltages.

I think it is. The 520 is a great performer at the right price. Plus, it's got the pot for the 5+ and 12+.
