XS is 20 days from taking 9th place in EON, but we could use some help getting to 8th.

If you have a spare computer please run an instance or 2 of eon for XS.

Due to the zzz's(no work) in eon i run 4 instances per core on my machines and it solves the problem most of the time.

If you feel the need to be sure you use every CPU cycle, you can always run eon along with a different project. DPAD and eon work very well together. Set eon to have a higher priority than DPAD, this will cause DPAD to sit and wait till some CPU cycles becomes available before it does any work. Eon will get most of the CPU cycles and DPAD will pick up what is left.

Thanks,

Get back to news safan. More than rank matters. the rank is fun. But the real business is something deeper and bigger.

The post is tantamount to a flame around these parts.

Rank is a measure of a teams contribution to projects and encourages more users and upgrades etc.

Who gives a **** what the motivation is as long as it leads to scientific progress/cures.

BTW,your post is flawed cos the MORE projects the XS team runs the HIGHER their overall ranking (much to my lil teams annoyance :D )

I've got a E6300 running for the machine. I'm running 3 instances, should I run 4? The zzz's seem to come and go. There will be hardly any for a day or so, and then a few more the next day. I might add another rig as well for a little while.

I am running 4 instances per core not CPU.

I have 8 instances running on my E6400 and my DX.

Is is me, or are eon work units taking longer to complete than they used to?

I've been wondering that same thing. It looks like they could be. There has been a few times where I looked and they have not been sleeping much, but the results turned in are not what they used to be.

Seems like a lot longer at the "Dimer: Start" phase. Used to be Blazzed or I could get 1000 pts per update if going full bore.

Guess the good news is that it'll be very hard for anyone to pass us with the lower points per hour.
