Hey guys.

I am back for a 3 month tour, starting Friday. My plans are to spend one month on a project and then move on. I have picked RCN/RS[boinc]/ABC. I think 30 days with 54 cores will move the team not only in project standing but in the vault as well.

Welcome back Mike... Glad to see you ReJoin us.

If its in your interests d2ol could use some help, not all 54 cores, but we are battling DPC for #1...

Cheers and Welcome Back

Very much so... dropped in Horror ;)

But Dave is absolutely correct, Own application, stable, but requires running multiple instances of the app on Duals/Quads, it doesnt recognize Quad/Dual core you have to run 4 or 2 copies of the program.

It's a good app Mike with good goals..Well worth running..

It appears easy enough. I may do a box or so. But, my goal is to gain some vault points for XS. We can only gain 12 points in the D2ol project but stand to gain much more in the ones i have noted.

No pressure, we will overtake them one way or the other :D, just with some more bodies it'll be sooner and more permanent.

I see what you mean about vault points, good luck, wish i had more HW to disperse.

:D

Awesome to see you back Mike. :D

You can come join 4x4N, Glennpat and I in PSP PRP. We have about 3 weeks before we overtake the team in front of us, and about another 2-3 weeks after that for the next team.

The teams after that are 150+ days until overtake, so I think we're just concentrating on getting past these two for the time being.

I beleive the maths projects also Mike are the ones which advance us in the Vault. Hoewver, on your 54 cores, this takes alittle bit of managment. Next on the Vault important is list is DPAD. Which for 54 cores... well is easy. One executable.... run... never need attention again. No multi core setup needed....

Somebody agree with me!

I agree with you! DPAD is an easy project to run, I'd just suggest running two instances for a machine with more than 2 cores.

Mikes an AMD Jockey. So if he has a Quad AMD, I'd be right over... for dinner.

Also as for DPAD, it is slighly more efficient than intel per clock cpu speed.

Excellent Mike, nice to see you back  I know you like to run the boinc projects, but the math projects are were we are furthest behind. Also, like these guys say, dpad is a real easy project to run. Just set it and forget it.

Thanks for your help :toast:

I have picked RCN/RS[boinc]/ABC.

Welcome to the XtremeSystems stage yet again, Mike.

I've got RCN running on one machine. RCN doesn't support 64bit, but I believe ReiselSieve & ABC both do. I have RS running on Ubuntu64 which I compiled Linux BOINC 5.8.17 myself.
Allendale in sig gets bench 1864/8114 per core with this version. Just optimized the CXXFLAGS, no code change. Could be better still, but Ubuntu 7.04 doesn't support GCC 4.2 or greater which have the mtune/march=core2 option.

Welcome back Mike :welcome: . It was great seeing your post. I missed seeing your posts with your Ghz power on it. I believe early in the year you had 137Ghz. Now your at 203.75Ghz. Impressive numbers!

Welcome back Mike, glad to hear you are around. That DC-Vault score is going to continue to jump up, 3.8k till the next jump

I recently returned... from a 10 day trip. 2 of my machines were crunching remotely the entire time, managed to get from 56k WCG points right up to 70-71k WCG Points!!! So each machine was pushing out about 1,101 Points Per Day (PPD)!

QMC is a good project and easy money:D I run 7 cores there, about 5k +/- aday.

HI guys,

Due to ever increasing power consumption....I am reducing the number of operating crunchers to 12 dual cores and a single.

I will use these primarily to service my team[zirconia] account. I will do occasional drive byes, though:D

I did manage to make XS some points at RCN
