:(

just in process of my new build
got the Hx620 after all the excellent reviews i read
just gone to put one of the pci-e leads (psu end) into the psu and one of the pins has broken inside the lead connector

if you look at the connector END on with the Clip that secures it to PSU at the top - it is the top right hand pin socket that has bent

Help !!!

I bought it from overclockers Uk on the 22nd july 2007

do i need to return the whole psu? or can a new lead be sent ?

fyi the other end of the lead has the 6 pin with 2 pin adaptor (to make 8 pin connector)

thanx for nay info

Steve

Just read the help on corsair site - and started an RMA as it says to do - hopefully it'll just be a case of getting a new cable sent to me

Let me know what response you get. Sometimes our SPAM filter catches items it should not. If you have any issues, let me know and I'll help out. Also, this weekend is a holiday weekend in the USA (Labor Day) so that may delay your response some.

Just curious, what video card do you have?

Just remembered since i did that list added
a Corsair Flash Voyager GT 4GB to my specs:D

Got it mainly for the Readyboost capability
have you had any feedback on how effective it is for it?
or is it different for every system dependant on rest of system specs?

thanx

Steve

Ready Boost is best so far for systems with less than 2gb of memory or, laptops with slow HDs. But, it can some benefit for systems like yours. It likely will not be as pronounced as the other systems with less RAM.

I had the same problem and just used another connector...why RMA a good PSU?

The quality of the connectors are rather poor on this PSU, IMO.

i can't use another one - cos i need them both - Pci-e gfx card requires 2

Give them till about noon on WED September 5th. They will be catching up all day today so hopefully they will get your mail. However, if you resend, use ONLY "Corsair" in the subject line. Don't add the HX620 part.

I don't have a problem with them. I don't see how the pins could break off, not like you can torque them or anything, they just go straight in

Excellent. Sorry it was such an ordeal. I'll smash the SPAM filter next time they let me close to it.

it's a great psu but the molex cables are crappy.
i have found that the pins do bend easily and are wonky; much less stiff than other psu's ive had.

This is really strange to me. Out of the dozens of these PSUs I have worked with and all of them I see around the lab, I have never seen a problem like this with the cables. But, we will happily replace any of them for those of you that have issues.
