Those shots are simply amazing.

I recently took some hummingbird photos in Wyoming and let me say that is a challenge for any photographer. I thought they turned out pretty good but after seeing these...I'm not sure if I want to post them now :(

I used a 1/1600 shutter and lots of light to freeze them in the air. Now using a macro lens to get closer would be a dream but there was no way I could have done that.

BTW: how is the dell (laptop) performing?

The E1505? It's a real nice machine. I am trying to convince the gf to sell it once better video cards are available. The X1400 is great but you need low detail on newer games since its around a 9800XT in performance.

very nice
the photos that capture a clear still of the h'birds wing during rapid wing movement/flight/hover are the tricky ones.
but all beautiful pictures.

I have a few of them on film from the old days.

Need to get a new scanner and maybe they will look ok.

FLASH + 1/2000 Shutter. Studio lighting helps a lot as well.

I love this one due to its rareness more than because of its quality
