(PS i used VLC to play it)
at around 6:20 into the video, when asked about any plans for console, he said:

"its not the console's CPU, visual power thats bothering us. its the memory. console's memory r very outdated. "

yeah i would guess its pretty hard to fit all that AI , Customizable Guns , Nano suites, textures and oh wait ... entire level onto there mere 512MB RAM for PS3 and 360

so i guess that means either a no for the console version of Crysis or it means a watered down version of Crysis spin-off ... like Farcry for 360 :ROTF:

edit:
looks like Crysis online noticed it , too

PC deserves exclusive titles like consoles anyway...

ya no way a 360 (let alone a ps3) could handle it. i still don't see why they don't put more mem in them. like ocme on 256mb in the ps3 thats like 5 years old by pc standards. im also glad to see it for pc only.

No worries!
Xbox360 will at least get Warhound (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/23619.html)!

It's not Crysis, but still looks promising... :)

Thats why console games

LOADING...

have smaller levels, worse ai, and

LOADING...

all these "extras" to unlock to try to make the

LOADING...

game seem worth it ;)

dont be surprised if the ps3 gets a port close the pc version it has 512mb of xdr memory at 1600mhz so thats equivalent to 6400mhz ddr, and it has the larger sata drive that the 360 dose not so it could have more loading but a very similar game, it also has a gpu similar to a 80 adn a cell processor with 6 streams so it should be able to match a pair of any cpus that are out now for entry lvl servers or consumers

you said it your self 512MB, that is like before XP SP1 time. Not just that those xdr memory has to be used by the system as well. With PC you get 1GB system memory and 512MB video memory, 3x as much.

hehe. this is so true. played oblivion on a friend's xbox360 and walking/riding through cyrodiil (the outdoor level) sucks so much - loading screens everywhere you look :p:
furthermore it ran very choppy/jerky - so, yeah, gotta love my pc while playing oblivion :D

lets see here. that is shared memory. and 256mb of it is graphics only. and the gpu can use more if it needs to. and about the gpu you are mistaken. it is not anything near to a G80. is a watered down version of the g70 (aka 7800gtx) but the kicker is it has a 128bit bus for the graphics mem and a seperate 128bit bus for that other mem that it can steal form the system. and on the cell cpu. it may have 6 streams but 1 stream does not equal 1 core. and it is a bad gaming cpu. yes it is very good a F@H but a core 2 duo makes a better gaming cpu. and for the hdd. ya the 60 may be faster than the 360's 20 but the PS3 has a version with a 20Gb as well so they would have to design it to cope with that version as well. for hardware the 360 makes a better gaming machine.

and not even it will have a chance at running crysis unless it super watered down.

well liek i said i wouldnt call it PC only ... but he pretty much said no way console can do handle the scale of gameplay that PC can ... due to the 512MB of RAM .... so they gotta watered down .. A LOT ...lol .

ppretty much like Farcry Predator for 360 .. like i said that game is no where near Farcry in terms of the scale of the level .. graphics .. everything that eats RAM they need to watered down for console

thats why Bioshock = a console port cuz barely uses 300MB of my 8800 640 .... cuz the size of the texture was made for 360's 512MB total RAM(which is close to 256 for GPU and 256 for CPU i would guess). bioshock PC gets what ever 360 gets" low res textures(which is why it dont use much GDDR), small levels (yeah not a big open area liek Crysis) , low polygon models .... if u have DX10 u get slightly better smoke, but thats about it ....

That makes sense. Even without an OS persey, there's no way that it could fit. Perhaps M$ will need to invest in a memory increase program?

DDR3 cost a buttload and there wasn't even enough supply for the 360 when it came out. At this point they would split the market if a higher memory version was released ala sega CD and all those other failed console add-ons.

If they can't port it then it can't be helped. But if they could cut down on the graphics a little bit they should port it, more money = better development and possibly a sequel.

lol i pissed off soo many ppl in gamespot with this interview quote ... hahah those damn 360 idiots

i think b/c 360 fanboys got most of the PC games on 360 last year, so they assume that 360 => PC ....

i dont see ps3 fanboys making "Crysis on PS3" as much as "Crysis on 360": threads .. like 1:10 .. 10 is the 360 threads ....

and those idiots eeithr said "i dont care about crysis comin to console or not" or "this game is overhyped its only a 9.0 game" (where as halo 3 is like 10 )

majority of the console fanboys r very ignorant .. they dont know much about RAM ... hell they dont even know what GPU and CPU is ... or what they do ....

You can do a lot with 512mb, if you put much time and effort in it. The PS2 has just 32mb shared RAM. This means the Xbox 360 has 1500% more RAM.

Okay, you will need to make some sacrifices, but I think you could still make a pretty good game. Don't forget that the 360 has 22.4GB/s RAM bandwidth for the main RAM, that's 3 times the bandwidth of the average high-end PC.

Game devs just use what they get. If every pc with a fast graphics card has at least 1GB of main RAM, then why not use it even if it only offers little extra?

On Crysis-Online, we're deleting threads almost daily about Crysis going onto consoles. The console people just don't want to hear that it won't happen.

Cevat already announced Crysis is planned to be a trilogy by the way.

i think its sad that bioshock is a 360 port .. im glad crysis will be pc only but then again nv/amd/intel/M$ dont want it to go to console anyways.. to sell mrore PC hadrware
