Now that I've tested this Razer product, so called DeathAdder I fought it would be nice to add a review based on short video shots.

I know it's a well known product, the net is full of reviews (pictures based) but guess one more wouldn't hurt, right? :)

Front View (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueEsmjWQ454)

As you can see above there is no light on scroll button, that's cause it's off - I have this option on this mouse . You can find this option in Razer Panel, just above the Glow-Logo, this to, can be set to off. ;)

Left Side - Buttons (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiYuKz2l9QE)

Above you have a video shot of the left side, the one with the buttons. I personally have no use for them, wish they weren't there.Who knows maybe others need more buttons then the ones on the keyboard. :)

Back View (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlW5QAjaHGo)

Now for the S.F. part - a glowing Logo which goes Off and On, like the light from old S.F. movies. It's kinda nice, I don't use it wile I'm at desk but when I'm gone I turn it On.

Profiles Button (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZGMdUoAiKg)

As you can see above, there is a small button near the infrared sensor, from that button you can switch your profiles. You have 5 profiles, on which you can add different settings for different needs. I don't need more then 2, for Shooters, RTS and Design. ;)

Plus

+One of the best, if not the best mouse for gaming - now this not related to marketing, it really an advanced engine superior to others.
+Good combination Betwen hardware and software - at least in Windows XP.
+Looks special.

Minus

-Warms a little.
-Not as ergonomic as promoted.

PS.Didn't had a Photo Camera, so I had to use my web cam - at least it's more original, hope you like it.

That light doesn't generate Heat - mine is off and still have that problem. Go in Razer panel and on right corner you have the Light options:

Scroll Button ON

Glow-Logo ON

Click on them to switch of the lights. ;)

take it, hold it, love it ...
thx for the review, I grabbed this beast some time ago and is extremely fast and accurate, could be larger, but still fits quite nicely and I like the surface,
and for those who dont believe, it has a true 1000Hz polling interval (measured with mouserate tester),
this mouse is really great for both aiming and normal work (programmable buttons with macros)

good review , my two cents into this ;> .... had Razer Cooperhead Blue (it was manufactured like crap, it felt like its going to fell apart when used more then 2hours , totaly unergonomic , hard to grip with two fingers (my point of view) ... the only thing good was the sensor 2000Dpi + 500Hz and it worked ok, no reverse acceleration ect. ... oh i forgot another good thing i sold it for price 15% more then i bought it :D

Had also this mouse the "dreaded" "Deathadder" ... should be called "nerve eater" ;F , design was a little bit better the Cooperhead but i didn't like the sensor as much a liked in Cooperhead , also all Razer mouse products look like some asian :banana::banana::banana:ty tuned "Hyundai" , i know almost all for "gamers" must have bling ect. but to be honest i want a more readable menu then more bling.

Finally when i killed my MX510 on purpose (it simply wouldn't die ;> ) i got brand new MX518 and IMHO its the best Optical gaming mouse around , comfortable , ergonomic, very good in long hours of gaming , good software , just install the Setpoint adjust the DPI and there you go.

I had many many many mouses around and i never going back to any Razer product ;] it simply isn't build for gamers ... its build for the "public".

BUT tastes are as different as people, good effort with the review , some ppl will find it helpfull

yeah, the feel from using mice is different, but I didnt like Razer Copperhead or Diamondback-like mice - the shape wasnt for me. I am still an owner of a MX510 and MX1000, and the DeathAdder's sensor pwns every Laser mouse I had - G5, A4 X750BF, MX1000, Copperhead, ...
Besides, the shape of the DeathAdder is similar to the IntelliMouse Exp 3, and although I have larger hands, it even beats a MX1000 when it comes to speed and ease of working with it, and no way it looks like some asian *** tuned by Hyundai :)

Cool, it glows and you can turn it off! It may not be ergonomic, but that doesn't matter, I'll buy it anyway! /sarcasm

I have a DA right now but this is on the way. THe DA feels a little too bulky for my taste. THis uses the same technology except its the slimmer Diamondback shell.

I know what you mean, it surely is nice for some,
I personally prefer the 'bulky' DA (it isnt that bulky anyway)

I've got this mouse and I've exactly same feeling about it, this warm is driving me crazy,I've switched off every light but it will still get warm. It's better in ergonomy than Krait or Copperhead but not so good like MS mice.

+ it's very light
+ it has nice ,fat scroll
+rubber material on the tob is very pleasant but side plastic really sucks
+it has nice clicks
+the accuracy is very good
+I'm extremly happy it's possible to switch off stupid lights

ive had the deathadder for about 2 months. It was on sale at circuit city for $40 so I couldnt pass it up. Now that i am adjusted, i wont look back. the mouse is deffinetly one of the better mice out there.

How does this mouse compare with the copperhead?

I have a Copperhead, but after about a year or so of using it I was getting an aching pain in my wrist from using it. Unfortunately I broke my right wrist big time when I was younger and it never healed properly, so I bought the DeathAdder to go back to the good old palm-method of holding a mouse. The pain is gone and I'm happy again. :)

I've also got a Logitech MX-518 around here somewhere which is also an excellent gaming mouse, but the SetPoint software drove me bananas.

I used to have the Copperhead, awesome mouse for gaming with the side buttons were abit slippery and there wasnt enough buttons for some games.

I've now got the Razer Lachesis, Easily the best gaming mouse available. The two extra buttons infront of the rollerball are really useful for games like crysis where you have weapon and suit options

Nice review.
I currently have a razer deathadder (not the 3g but the other one)
Been playing with it for 3 years now and it's really good but i wanted to try something new.
One of my friends had told me before that the deathadder is the best mouse every made (according to him). Thanks for the review I'll have to buy one and check it out myself.

Unless you do competitive gaming, there's no point in spending more than $20 on a mouse (the Intelli Explorer 3.0 costs around $20 and is also considered a good gaming mouse and is quite comfortable).
