World of Whorecraft star Mia Rose has been banned from World of Warcraft. Mia Rose is a hardcore gamer as well as being a :banana::banana::banana::banana:star, who appeared in several episodes of World of Whorecraft.

Rose told the website Kotaku.com that she was banned from the World of Warcraft over the weekend after a fan recognized her and mentioned her website in a public chat area.

Rose played a horny elf in a couple of Whorecraft episodes a year ago and said she was shown the virtual door after a fellow gamer recognized her on the Mai' Ganis server and mentioned the sexy gamer's site in a barter chat room.

Rose allegedly received a message from a GM saying that she was suspended. She has been unable to get contact anyone at Blizzard in order to attempt clearing it up.

Good for Blizzard. An industry they don't condone (in word at least) was making money off their name and success and there was little they could do about it - she was part of it and they pursued the only course of action they had to demonstrate their stance.

It's really no different than denying service in a store you own to a known pedophile - you have a moral stance against what he does but are generally helpless to stop it, but you can make your stance known by doing what you can.

Before anyone jumps on me about that last paragraph, let me illustrate with a story I heard somewhere once:
"A wealthy man walked into a bar one day and saw a gorgeous woman sitting alone at a table. He walks up to her and says 'Would you sleep with me for a million dollars?'. She's taken aback by this, but she knows he has the money and thinks it over for a minute and eventually says 'yes' and starts to get up. This is the same kind of thing - letting some things you find morally disagreeable go because some people consider them smaller failings is a moral failure in the same way that letting those things go that some people consider to be large.

While I agree with you Serra, and if that's what is happening then it's ok, but I'm not inclined to wholly believe Blizzard conducts banning with such high ideals in mind.

Apparently from the articles on the matter, she long ago gave up anonymity in the game and there may have been many factors contributing to the ban. I've not dealt personally with many folks having been banned, but when the potential of it comes up, it pays to have a history of being very good or very reasonable to back up your statements of overall innocence.

Hopefully folks get a sense that this even definitely stepped over the line, and she made it known who she was, long before this event happened.
