I'm exchanging emails with a Laing rep company, and starting to work with them to find a distributor that will special order a D5 Strong from Laing. Would anyone else be interested in one or more of these pumps?

I don't know how to directly display the .pdf images here.

There's more about it in that thread.

A bit more info would be greatly appreciated.

No disrespect, but "strong" alone doesn't mean much to me.

Dimensions (external and thread or barb size), voltage/amperage, head pressure, max flow, heat dump... that kind of data.

I'm on the market for two pumps. I was going to buy two D5s, but this might interest me.

Let me see if I've understood correctly.

Compared to the D5 Vario, and providing we use the same housing (1/2" barbs), @ 2gpm gives 1 ft more head pressure in exchange of 1W more power consumption.

Hmmm... if the price is not scary I might be interested.

Forget the platic version, how much is the brass housing ones?

I'd be interested in just the brass housing with the 1/2 pipe thread.

Now you've lost me...

Head vs flow figures are much worse in any of the brass tops. Why would you like to use them?

The better question would be why are they so much worse...

Well If they are actually Bronze, that means they are cast since bronze isn't machinable worth a darn, cast parts will have a rougher finish inside causing more resistance. But that brochure also says Brass so... don't they even know what material they are using? Brass and Bronze are two different alloys.

who knows.

I'd be interested in a D5 Strong, plastic not brass/bronze as it seems the plastic gets better head/flow ratio

Any news? I'd be interested in the bronze type as I build lots of hydronic heating systems for remote locations, and this would be an excellent circ pump, not to mention cheaper then most the ones availible most likely!

Same here, it depends on the price of course.
I would be interested in the plastic one.
Also do you know the dBA difference?
Between the vario and strong that is.
