The review looks a little biased to me, Yoxxy forgot:

1.) It overclocks just 20mhz (2.5%) no matter what latencies.
2.) Latencies can only be lowered by a little.
3.) It's xtremely expensive.
4.) It get's it's ass kicked by the Supertalent DDR3-1866 kit.
1+2+3+4 = It's a tech demo and they didn't exceeded in their goal being the best (in my opinion).

Then, he gave it 9.5/10. But:

1.) There is no innovation in this product.
2.) It's expensive.
3.) It's not really fun overclockng (+- done in an hour of testing).

I'd give it 7/10 maybe, because it is still xtreme, but no more. 8.5+/10 is only for products that you come by a couple of times a year that have something really special. This is not it in my opinion.

1.) 20 mhz == a tight screen.
2.) +3% increase in speed is not minor
3.) Price is unkown.
4.) I have the ST DDR3-1866 kit it doesn't perform as well. Timings of 8-7-7-16 are the best at PC3-1800 with 2.1v.

WOW, I have not seen so much negativity in a long time (except in the speak freely section).

Guys this is an unreleased product that he's been kind enough to test and post on XS as an exclusive and you sit here and bash it.. NOT COOL.

I didn't mean to be negative, sorry. I just feel ratings are easy to give away to respectable brands. Giving 9.5/10 to an unreleased product is just....ohh well.
In some forum sections you'd be called a fanboy by 90%+ of the people.

The review is really nice, but the rating just feels unappropriate for an unreleased product. It's also very high for something that doesn't stick out way above other products from the specs we have now (no info on price, availability, etc).

but there NO DDR3 thats cheap at the moment.
saying that corsairs is expensive, when the very ram you mention, is $800 for 2 gigs, is very very one sided.

yes, its expensive, but ALL DDR3 is expensive at the moment.
even the junky crap that no one wants....
the stuff people have even a remote interest in, is 3 times more expensive then a Great set of DDR2.

While I'll admit I probably won't be rushing out to buy a set, Yoxxy deserves big ups for an excellent write-up and very relevant testing. :clap:

I bet a lot of the haters will be referring to his review and other similar ones when they begin ocing DDR3. (chances are many of us will be very soon)

Good review, but i must say this ram is a little disappointing. Only a 20 MHz overclock leaves more to be desired, and reminds me of Corsair's XMS2 DDR2 800 ram - comes stock overclocked from 667 to 800 then max overclock was <50 MHz more regardless of voltage or timings.
The 1600 MHz rated Z9 based Supertalents have been shown to break 2000 MHz at 7-7-7-x timings, and respond to voltage up to 2.25v; this corsair offers little to no competition to the supertalents, and perhaps may only compete with the lower performance non-micron based DDR3 kits.
