Is it true that the x-fi and abit ip35 pro do not work well together? I've read it could cause audio distrotion/crackles/pops. Does anyone have this abit board with the xfi and no problems?

iam now finally starting to get into vista x64. only real gripes are uguru causing BSOD's and xifi.. iam about to just give up on creative. It took me 2 hours to get the SC to work in vista. real PITA. But its working now, fine sound quality actually sounds louder in vista than on xp..

if your using 64bit vista with more than 3 gb of total ram you will get the :banana::banana::banana: your pants screeching at boot! I finally read to try the march drivers, and its working fine..

that HC card looks pretty nice, or one of the bluegears..

Actually if you get the official vista cd that leaked you shouldnt have any problems, it fixed all of mine. And reinstall uguru i dont have any problems with mine.

Ive had problems.

Sound was just going randomly. Think it might be the sound card though as it happened on a Abit IN9-32X MAX ive got took it out straight after that.

Shortly after that my IP-35 Pro died. :(

hmm funny we both have xfi and your ip35 died aswell

iam gonna get rid of the soundcard, ive heard nothing but trouble from people with them. And the sound quality is subpar

i actually like the realtek audio much better on the mobo, was using it tonite briefly..sounds deeper.

Ah, my thread to vent. :D W/ GRAW 2, X-Fi Elite Pro, and this board, it sounds like crap. Static, crackle, Holiday Cap 'n' Crunch, it's all there in full force. The PCI latency tool fixes the issue, but so does an Asus P5B Deluxe or EVGA 680i.

DFI Infinity P965-S has the same problem and I believe it's related to pcb layer count and/or #phase. Sad to say, but it's reason enough to consider returning the board. :(
