A friend of mine recently purchased this mobo in the process of building a new PC. He only wanted to buy certain parts at this time, and buy the rest later and as a result of this, he kept his old HD. Is it possible to set up a non-Sata HD as the boot HD? I have played around with the BIOS for him, and have been unable to get the computer to boot. The HD is seen, but not as a boot device.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you have to enable the jmicron because, if I'm not mistaken, it runs the IDE channel. That might be your problem.

Another thing is to make sure that you have a fan connected to the CPU fan header...I believe that this mobo is one of those that needs to have a fan connected to run (it doesn't actually have to be the CPU fan, just a fan hooked up to the fan header. Again, I'm working off memory here, but it seems that I recall reading that in some other thread.
