You need to use the search:

and forget those reviews..excellent boards.
and no matter what you buy you want the 5000X chipset..Not the 5000P or 5000V

not that i know of..

@MovieMan: whats wrong with those 2 chipsets & whats so goos about the 5000X? - just curious

side track: i wish Nvidia would make chipsets for Core 2 based Xeons (771)... like their 'Professional' line-up for Opteron 1207... that way u could have SLI & get rid of that dammed FB-DIMM & have ECC REG DDR2 instead... mmm, SLI, dual quad, lotsa ram... :D

Yes, but with a X16 slot and a X4 signal on the 2nd x16 your going to take a performance hit..
Then again with one top card you really don't need 2 of them.

The 5000X(Greencreek) is the best of the 3 and usually found on the high end workstation boards. The 5000P is the "normal" one and the 5000V(value) is the cheap one.
Yea, I'd rather have non FBDimms but the fastest DDR2 ECC REG is 667 also so not much of an advantage.
I'm waiting for the DDR2-800FBDimms to make an appearance..

5000X (Greencreek) and 5000P (Blackford) have twice the available memory bandwidth as 5000V. So from a performance standpoint you want to avoid the V-series.

Also, BSEL mod will boost FSB from 1066 to 1333.

^^^^^^^^^^ What he said..Little piece of elec tape over the G30 pad and a 1066 xeon magically turns into a 1333 xeon...Nice huh?
Then bump the FBDimms up a little from 333 to 350 ish and you got yourself a real bear..
