hiya,

I know i'm not supposed to post this here but there will be some faster and maybe beteter responses.

I'm gonna buy myself a Swiftech MCW5000-PT for on my P4 2.4C but I'ts not like with other heatsinks or waterblocks that you just put the block on the cpu and done!! You have to make everything right so there's no condensation but HOW???

I hope you guys can help me!!

Everything you need is in the package, i think.

and with the Swiftech MCW50-T?

I know MS has one? And if everything is in the package of that one everything will be in the package of the MCW5000-PT also I guess :D

Yep,

Swiftech is nice enough to inlcude all of the mounting hardware and condensation prevention gear you will need for the block. But, for the price they are charging, they better include everything. ;)

i do also have one of those, they include lots of condension stuff. But u probebly wont get any condension anyway.

a tip, TAKE IT EASY WHEN WOUNTING THE STANDOFFS ON THE MOTHERBOARD! it says a maximum torque of 16 lbs in the manual - i missed that and twisted the bolts off.

tell us your temps later.
What PSU are u using?

You will need a powerfull PSU to run the pelt.

TBH if your gona go to all the trouble of a pelt you should watercool it.

I'm going to use a Meanwell 320W for the MCW5000-PT and the MCW50-T.

And in my amd rig (with my mach2) I was going to put a Swiftech MCW50-T on my Radeon9800pro but I was going to connect that pelt on my Antec Truepower 480W. is that PSU strong enough for the pelt (I thought it was 80W).

And another question: how do I supply the Mach2 of power? *SHAME*

I hope you guys can help me!!!!

Heres a good guide to condensation protection:

U need lots of amps @ 12v.

MCW5000PT needs 25A
MCW50 need 5A
-------------------------------
thats about 30A @ 12v = 360W.
Maybe that your meanwell will cope it, i dont think so.
http://www.meanwell.com/product/SP-500/catalog.gif, thats a very nice one.

U dont need any extra for your prommie, they are driven form the AC outlet. They take like 1-2 Amps or so....nothing to care about.

So i for your AMD (the one with the prom) its no problem.

But i think u need an one for the P4.

or do like this....

P4:
MCW5000 - meanwhile 25@12v
MCW50T - the Antec 480Watt
CPU, MB,CD,HD - the Antec 480Watt

AMD:
buy cheap 300W-350 ATX.

The amd is also a ANTEC 480W PSU so I can connect everything to the psu?

and then for the P4 the MCW5000-PT @ that Meanwell 320W
and the rest @ the antec?

arte

yeah i think that will do, u dont even need an antec on the AMD but power is alwyas nice to have, specialy if u have 9800

Jef Klaxon

but can I also connect a FX5900U at the P4 ANTEC? with that MCW50-T on it to?

arte

yep that wouldnt be a problem....i think that the Antec is rated 22A @ 12v. Thats enough. If u experince any problems at boot that your disks cant be found, just set the "Initial IDE delay" to
diffrent values for each IDE device.

Is it possible to adjust the voltage at the meanwell supply?

Dont forget to tell us your temps with the MCW5000.

Yes...the S-320 is adjustable from 10.8v to 13.2v.
