Hey guys, i just got a ASUS P5B Deluxe off a seller on a forum.
BIOS version is 1101.
CPU: Intel E6300 (running at 3.5ghz right now)
RAM: Corsair DDR2-800 XMS26400v5.1 (Not D9, but runs at 1000mhz 1:1)
So yeah, theres ram slot 1, 2, 3 and 4. (From left to right, when you look at the motherboard installed.)
So, i plugged everything, and plugged my dual channel RAM of corsair in slots 1 and 3 for dual channel. But when i start the computer up, nothing appears on the screen. I decided to unplug the ram, and leave the 1st one on, and it doesnt start. So, i plugged it in the 3rd slot, and it worked...!? So i tried it again, slots 1 and 3, and no luck again. So i tried 2nd and 4th slots for dual channel, but it doesnt work. Wow, that was 10 minutes wasted right there.
So last thing i tried was 3rd slot and 4th slot. Yay! It works! 2GB in single channel, better than 1gb in single channel.
Any idea why this is happening? Please help, i'm not sure how much performance gain i would get when i run in dual channel, but i know it would be faster.
