View Full Version : how much memory can XP handle?

i know it can utilize upto 1gig in games, but what about 2gigs? maybe not in games, but can the OS and other apps benefit from 2 gigs?

to be honest, 2GB is very excessive, especially for games and other apps, XP with it curvacious fisher price graphics is memory hogging but thats a bit excessive.

I agree that 2GB is excessive under most circumstances. Kinda like going to the fridge for a beer but coming back with the whole keg. Sure you could drink it all, but....

I don't see where there's a bad example being put forth here, fill me in.... ;)

I believe xp can handle up to around 4gbs of memory. Might even be more, since it can run as a server, and servers have been known to have much larger capabilities. But I'm not really sure about that.
