Like i said before DON'T BUY THAT
I don't have time now but i'll post back with an idea of watercooling for less than £120. It's doable as it's the price for my first setup!

I wouldn't. I bought one and it didn't even work. System would not boot properly with it installed. Now using stock HSF until I can find a better solution.

Is it OK to raise voltage with coolers like them? They can handle a lot? Will they help me get as near as 2400MHz as this chip wil lgo?

Thanks,
Craig

Yep.. In the winter I had mine at 1.9v (in the BIOS, via MBM it's around 1.83v). Temps were still around 34*C idle, 41*C load. Although those are just estimates cause they didn't have the BIOS that fixed the temps on my NF7-S back then.

Thanks,
Craig yeah if you have a good chip i would say yes.
A guy in sweden has his 1700dltec to 2714mhz on a slk 800 + delta fan :toast:
About the voltage, you can go to like 2v when benching, but for everyday use i would use 1.9 at the max.

By the way join #xtremesystems @ irc.quakenet.org

I've done a system. All parts from cooltechnica.com
Maze4 $40
Heatercore+Shroud $37
2*120mm JMC 90cfm $12
Hydor L20 $35
10ft Clearflex $10.5
Water Wetter $3.5
T 1$
Total $157 + shipping
NB block DD Z-chip $37

You can buy the same thing from DangerDen, it'll cost the same but the shipping cost are lower at DD. So it'll be around $210-220 shipping included

Update : @ DD it'll cost you exactly $220 with shipping included (if you take the Z-chip)

Quick question, why do you always say an inline is better than reservoir please?

Thanks,
Craig

It's a personnal preference, i just don't like the res. It takes room, it might have leak (at least more easily than a block), some have problem with high flow. And i don't like having so much water in one place. The T is cheaper and more convinient to use and bleed.
The really first reason i went for a T is because i wanted to have a good wc sys but i didn't had much money to spend

it would be safe to have a reservoir sitting outside the computer though?

Craig If you like you can add it wherever you want. I'm just a cheap a§§ and i just don't like them. For the price of a res you can add a gpu block, or get a LRWW instead of the maze4

Arent reservoirs easier to top up and bleed than with T lines though? Ive never done water and i want something easy to get going ;)

Craig It's about the same thing, once you know how to use it a T line is very efficient. But i've no experience with res, maybe someone that has used one can tell you how it performs.

antipop,

maze 4 waterblock = £40
pump eheim 1048 = £38
Bucket = already have
tubing 1/2" 4 - 5 foot = £5
clips to hold tubing on = £2 for 4

just add water and some ice and voila cheapass watercooling

antipop

Going for a bucket might be good for a temporary solution but i wouldn't use that for everyday use (unless you have a lot of space, a heatercore is better. But with the bucket you save some good money

CCW

yeah, and i can fill it up with ice and stick beer bottles and cans in there to cool em

1. Do not buy any air cooling peltier setups, they all suck!!

2. Watercooling can be bought very cheeply as listed above.

3. like cost matters, you are loaded as it is :p:

CCW
