Where did you get those cool blue hose clamps?
Also.. those barbs on the microres and blocks are a pain in the ass, especially with 7/16 inch tubing. Avoid using them if you want to save yourself some trouble.

I agree, in that sometimes shorter pieces equal less likely to kink.

I agree, in that sometimes shorter pieces equal less likely to kink.

nope wrong that tubing sucks ass i think i will have to buy more 3603 but this time ill go with the one with thicker walls because when i used it before it never ever kinked and as far as the pump and res you cannot see the pump when i but up 5.25 cage and res was placed there for uv effect when i insert all 6 uv lights and really get things glowing

This is looking very, very nice. My only problem with this build is the PSU - it's quiet while idle, but as soon as any load is placed on it it starts screaming like a freakin hair dryer. If silence is important to you, do yourself a favor and get a PSU with a bigger, lower rpm fan, because the PCP&C 'Silencer' 750W is ANYTHING but silent.

I also have a few questions regarding the case itself, because I'm in the process of planning out my cooling upgrade on my own TJ07. However, I can't disassemble my case yet, hence the following questions.

1: I seem to recall reading that it is possible to mount a single MCR320 as well as one HDD cage in the base of the TJ07, as long as the HDD cage is moved forward a bit. Can you confirm this?

2: Could I ask you to post a measurement from the top edge of the motherboard and motherboard tray to the inside top of the case?

3: Could I ask you to post a measurement from the top of the motherboard tray support bracket to the inside top of the case? (Refer to pic below).

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g228/nicepants42/Picture010-1.jpg
On the top left, the bracket re-enforcing the motherboard tray.

Thanks for the help, and again, nice build!

louie101086
08-01-2007, 10:18 PM
i will get those measurements also to answer first question i do not know becuase i brought brackets for my hard drives which you can see in pics those allow easy installation into 5.25 spaces

PROJECT UPDATE**

Why would you want to go from a quad core, down to a dual core?

louie101086
08-02-2007, 06:14 PM
Why would you want to go from a quad core, down to a dual core?

lower temps, less electric use, higher overclocks, and to tell the truth i dont do anything which uses all four cores

Just a question on the fill port... Looks a little odd with it just kinda hanging out there with it's 6 or so inches of tubing. I haven't built my first real system yet myself, it's on the way via UPS, but it might look a bit cleaner to shorten that tubing for the fillport down to the minimum so it's just basically that fill port sticking up and not taking up more space. Just an idea.... ?

after you take block apart you must:
1. get spare o-ring from a barb you have laying around
2. place it nicely on opening
3. then place top on and firmly hold it on while you start screwind it together.(important to hold it tight to prevent o-ring from slipping/falling out of alignment with hole)

I habe been asking how the bowing does with the quad cores..does the bow..just bow the central blcok so the effect is not as good with a quad as a dual core??

Wow you have done a great job on this build! Lots of work put into it. As for the keyboard, I would go with a Tarantula. I have one and I love it to no end just be prepared to have a microfiber cloth handy to wipe finger prints off of it.

to tell the truth the tarantula is what i want because i want to keep the whole razer look but the g11 and g15(w/ blue lights) seem to be good as well i wish i could play with them before i made choice

sorry but right now that is not possible i have gutted my system so once i reasemble everything i will do that i will also post pics of mods i do and my current update of cooling system

Hey M8... Great TJ-07! I'm loving mine

While your Mobo is out and you're gutted you could consider a fan on the backside of the mother board. Cut a hole (just on the motherboard, no outside cutting) and mount a thin fan. I used 70x15mm. Took the Mobo temperature down about 5c.

There's no "fresh" air being pulled from the outside but its definitely moving stagnate air.

imo i'de rather the saitek 2 gaming keyboard over the logitech one's.I Used both and they are to stiff for my liking. I haven't used the tarantula though can't coment on that. The eclipse has blue, purple and red lights can change via a button on the side...

Update: Bad News I Was Installing Hardware And When I Was Finished My Board Displayed "--" Once Again So I Rma'ed To Evga Again But I Will Soon Have Pics Of My Grill Mod I Will Be Installing Tonight

Not necessarily dead.
We get told the death dots are a short or grounding issue, but what we don't get told is-
If you take an OHM meter prior to the mounting bracket for the CPU you will find the LGA-775 CPU socket and bracket are in no way grounded on these 680i reference boards. For all intents and purpose those metal parts at first appear to be isolated electrically from the rest of the board.

That is, until you insert the CPU. Now, the bracket, CPU case etc are now making a complete ground to chassis ground. Or, at least most boards seem to make a complete ground, not all. On two boards I have seen worked on that were acting flakey we found that with a DC voltmeter we had DC potential between the CPU case and chassis ground when the machine turned on. In one case reseating the CPU fixed the issue, in the second case the problem didn’t go away and ultimately he returned the board for RMA. His new board does not exhibit any DC potential between his CPU case and chassis ground.
So care with cpu WC blocks and back plates is more important with the 680i boards than most. Fixed one "dead" board by insulating taping the Thermalright back plate. Bye-bye death dots.

Louie's I want list(*revised*):

MB-Gigabyte P35-DQ6(ORDERED)
RAM-Crucial Ballistix Tracer pc2-8500(ORDERED)
*CPU-Intel Quad Q6600 G0(ORDERED)
GPU-EVGA 8800GTX 768MB(I may get thru step-up program or wait till something better comes out)
*KEYBOARD-Logitech G15(ORDERED)
OTHERS-D-TEK Nozzles(If they ever come out)

I seen this great mod which i will apply to some portions of my case and also my keyboard because i hate the baby blue look on the g15 and this mod will involve carbon fiber film from mnpctech.com. still a little unsure where on my tj07 to put the film i think i will put on mid plate and maybe drive bay covers feel free to make suggestions im always open to new ideas
