An unlocked AMD 1600+ reaches 2100+ speed!!?? Could this be true!?

Tech report also has linked up to this test...

Could it be true? Of course :) With most of the XP 1600+'s that are shipping nowadays...and at their excellent price...you can't go wrong! :D

I have an XP 1600+ here right now at 1800MHz with 1.95V being cooled by an old Swiftech MC462r1 folding 24/7. The 1600+ is the best bang for the buck right now.

DGM- sounds like my set up. 1800mhz seems to be the limit for mine on air....... for the $90 I paid for it a couple months ago, it was a steal.

DaGooch

Yes, 1800MHz seems to be the limit no matter how much voltage I pump into this little 1600+ on air. I would not be surprised if she hit 2000MHz on evaporative phase change. :D

I get mine today! I hope I get a good stepping.

If any of you guys can find the week 16 or higher AGOIAs, you'll hit 1.9ghz no problems. With my current XP, i can do from 1.47ghz to 1.9ghz with default voltage.

Woot! I got an AROIA Y! It's already running 1743 at 1.70 vcore. I'm just trying to get other problems fixed first before I start overclocking.

AROIA are over rated.

1.95v :p

I got this so far. Not bad for a guy that's used to 146 FSB. :)

Maybe I should keep it here to burn in the ram?

I just picked up a 1600+ yesterday, planning on trying it out tonight.

AGOIA0220MPM
4....
I think. Only stepping they had. Hopefully I can do some better unlockage this time than on my 1800+. I'll test it to make sure it works first though ;).

JWS,
I am glad you got a good chip man!

KnightElite,
Let us know how it clocks :)

KnightElite

You bet. Looking at it right now in front of me the whole thing is:

AX1600DMT3C
AGOIA0220MPM
41058751100

So I did remember it correctly. Week 20 seems like it should be good, but from the thread on AROIA cores on [H]ard|OCP it seems that the MPM cores don't clock as high. As long as it beats my 1800+ though, I'm happy ;).

Hello everybody, this is my first post here at Xtreme :)

KnightElite, i think the AGOIAs 41F were slighty better, anyway, that week 20 is a good one, too.

Hello there, first post for me too - this looks an awesome forum! Glad i found it :D

Anyway, a friend of mine is selling an XP 1600 CPU, it's only a month old. What codes should i be looking for, as i would like to use this CPU to overclock as much as poss :)
I am currently Running a 1GHz AXIA Y @ 1595 - Watercooled, so anything higher than that SHOULD keep me happy.

Any tips / comments / questions are welcome.

Regards,
C0oL

Hey COoL! Welcome to the forums!

Look for the AGOIA and AROIA steppings for the 1600! Right now (as you can tell) it's the best bang for the buck!

Gotta love that AXIA Y! I'm running a 1200 right now.

I was able to get 1950mhz with the Vcore @ 2volts from an xp1600 AGOIA 4 and I think it will hit 2gig, but im waiting for my new tec psu to see :(

I had a 1gig AXIA before and the 1600 xp win hands down, great value for money :)

Can some1 post if they have been past 2gig with a 1600XP AGOIA plz, it must be possible.

@shadco:

Boy does that look familiar. What Vcore did you get that at? I need to pump 2.1v into mine for it to run Prime95 stable. Damn fine stepping these AGOIA's are.

What do you have your FSB/Multiplier set to?

I have mine at 10.5 X 173 1820 > 1.92vcore. I just volt modded my KX7, so I'm hoping to get more.

had an aroia 1600+ that would do 1850mhz at 1.75vcc but no more..... have an agoia 1600+ that does 1970mhz now at 2.0vcc but no matter how hard i try or what i shut off/tweak in bios on the 8k3a it just wont hit 1980mhz .... 10.5X 187 is it.

LBJGH,dont install it yet.i saw that pic and had to register.the triangle and where it says L1 are grounds and it looks like you have them covered.so you might want to scrape it away from there.i think you will just be locked at 11 but why take the chance on frying it.

LBJGH
09-14-2002, 08:42 AM
will the triangle ground the L1's?

hdfxst
09-14-2002, 05:25 PM
the triangle and L1 are grounds, when you connect the dots dont let the conductive paint touch them

Cool, it looks like I may have found a 'good' CPU! I removed the conductive material from the triangle and the L1 so it should be good to go... the only problem is my epox mobo is giving me a C1 error and would not post. I didn't want to put the new cpu in until I sorted out the C1 error. I've just RMA'd the mobo and ram since I don't know which one died on me... looks like another couple of weeks before I can try the new CPU. :(

LBJGH lets hope you have as much success with your xp as you have with that TB.... Awesome overclock m8.I'm trying for a 50% o/c but need some better ram than my 256 hyundai 2100.

LBJGH
09-16-2002, 05:10 AM
.... I'm assuming you started with a 1600+? Isn't that comparable to a 2400+ with those speeds?

Bucket-head
09-16-2002, 06:07 AM
Yer LBJGH forgot to say that it's a locked xp1600 AGOIA Y which cost me fifty pounds.I'm not too sure on the comparable clock speeds but it's a little unstable at this speed.Just under 2 gig seems fine though.But... if you were to kindly donate your stick of ram to me!! LOL

LBJGH
09-16-2002, 07:41 AM
Sorry I just RMA'd my mobo and ram because of a C1 error code on my Epox mobo. I couldn't determine if was the ram or board... if the ram is toast, you're welcome to it (shipping not included.)

Just got a AGOIA week 21 from newegg. This sucker is well into prime @ 160x10.5 ~ 1683mhz @ stock voltage (1.76v in bios) Still unlocked since it's actually for someone else. :D Since I'm not fsb limited I'll see what she tops out at soon. These things rock!.. My xp1800 won't even do 1600mhz without extra juice!

And I am on AIR at the moment also. Swifty 462 with an 80mm casefan..not the delta!
