Good day,

may i know what is the max warrantied voltage for a Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 2Gb kit.

here are the part numbers im interested in.
TWIN2X2048-6400C4 PC26400 2GB Kit 4-4-4-12 240pin DIMM

TWIN2X2048-6400 PC26400 2GB Kit 5-5-5-18 240pin DIMM

thanks.

thanks.
The Warrantied voltages/timings by Corsair for those kits are as follows.....

TWIN2X2048-6400C4 PC26400 2GB Kit 4-4-4-12 240pin DIMM - 2.1v 4-4-4-12
http://www.corsairmemory.com/_datasheets/TWIN2X2048-6400C4.pdf

and

TWIN2X2048-6400 PC26400 2GB Kit 5-5-5-18 240pin DIMM - 1.9v 5-5-5-12
http://www.corsairmemory.com/_datasheets/CM2X1024-6400.pdf

That being said, I hope your not trying to run those kits together, you most likely will not get them to run properly, and if you do your latencies will be atrocious.

Most likely those modules are using Promos ICs which have voltage regulation built into the IC. Anything above about 2.1v is mostly just converted to heat and will not make the memory run any faster.

He said, he had one with samsung chips.

The warrantied voltage is still the same and, I am pretty certain that the Samsung ICs have voltage regulation also.
