I'd go with the 655, or a DDC1+ with a mod-top. Smaller size for not much worse performance and a greater rated head.

Definately the MCP655.

depends on how are you gonna use the pump.. MCP655 does not work submerged but eheim does.
but still i would choose the MCP655 out from those two pumps any a day.

Surprising. I saw at the water cooled case gallery alot of eheims. Why is that?
Btw, i am talking about performance alone, without paying attention to price differences.

Probably because the WC gallery goes back to 04' :p:

Taken from Maxx's guide......

AC pumps can be very good for watercooling, but most of them are low head pressure pumps. Because of this, most are not suitable for use in high performance watercooling setups. For a long time people though that the Eheim 1048, and 1046 were very good for watercooling, but that thought has changed recently. In my opinion, a pump for watercooling should not be even considered unless it has at least 9 feet of head pressure. Anything much below this will net rather low flow rates.

That being said, the MCP655 has almost double the head than an Eheim 1250, 6ft for the 1250 and 11ft for the MCP655, so obviously the MCP655 is the better choice.

Is there an advanced eheim version which is better than the mcp655?
btw, is the mcp655's noise considered low/mid/high? i am not talking about the version that comes with a speed adjuster, im talking about the max power mode.

^^ They are really silent.

Ive never had a problem with mine.

I personally had both eheim 1250 and mcp655 but if I had to choose between those two, I would go with the mcp655. It's better and it's more compact. The eheim 1250 is alot bulkier (takes up more room, not as suitable for use inside a mid-tower case).

I bought the 655-B, which is the 655 without the speed control and just stuck on the highest setting, and using the included neoprene pad it's nigh inaudible.

Happy to hear that.
Do you think that i will be able to hit 3 GHZ with amd 4800, GA-M55S-S3, 800MHZ memory (cheap ones) and the liquid cooling which i am about to buy? (mcr-320, mcp655, d-tek-fuzion). Btw, the amd 4800+ is at 2.5 GHZ at stock.

I had both the 1250 and the 655, the 655 has A LOT higher head pressure and is a lot quieter too :D

plus the 655 is quite a bit smaller too so it is easier to work with in a case and you can plug it directly into your psu and not into the wall

Ok, ty. I would now like to get an answer for the OC thing i asked about at my last reply.

You should be able to get there, depends on the Stepping really.

Stepping?

Yep, the "serial number", if you like, of your CPU. It indicates the revision of the manufacturing process your CPU was made under - some steppings are better for overclocking than others, or will put out more/less heat, or require more/less voltage...you get the idea. It's a 5-character alphanumeric code written on the actual IHS surface (for example, LCB9E is the stepping code of my Opty).

Ill check that soon.

What water to use in my liquid cooling system?
Just distilled water with a coolant additive such as the pentosin, or a radiator's specific green water which i know that exists?

Distilled water with a bit of something for anti-baccy/fungus/corrosion. Swiftech HydrX has always been a favourite of mine, but don't overdo it - unless you're using chilled (ie. sub-zero) water, the more additive you put in the worse the performance.

Distilled Water + Pentosin G11 + 2 Drops of Biocide (PT Nuke) work great.

Stepping = FPO/Batch No. on the CPU Box. Its on the CPU IHS too.

Its normally starts with a L6/L7 or a Q6/Q7 or a new batch that starts with the No. 3....

why the biocide... isn't pentosin enough to kill all the wild life in the loop.. i mean the water+ pentosin mix works great for me and there is no nasty algae in my loops ?? so whats the point of using pt nuke??

To be on the safe side maybe :P.

Id rather just have a drop or 2 in there, specially if your going to use CCFL's.
