I have a P5k Deluxe with 4 sticks (TWIN2X2048-6400C4) of memory. Right now I have them running at the stock speed of 800mhz 4-4-4-12 2.1v and everything is Orthos STABLE.

What should be my first step in OC'ing these?

I would suggest first trying to OC your CPU up to 400 FSB which will give you 3.6ghz. Then if 400 FSB is stable at a 1:1, try clocking up from there in very small increments of 5-10mhz max. Also, if you want more speed, change your timings to 5,5,5,15.

Once you find your stable cap using 1:1 you can see if your system will run with a divider and upclock the RAM some more over the CPU speed.

That's a very crude how-to. I am certain that there are some guides around that will give better info.

YB, a big no go.

I can't seem to raise the memory above 800mhz and pass Orthos. I tried 5-5-5-15 and that doesn't work either. Could it be the north bridge voltage?

Yes, and especially with 4 DIMMs. Try the same OC with just 2 DIMMs. If you can OC 2 but not 4, it is likely the NBv or related setting.

I am going to try 2 sticks tonight. I tried everything else with 4 and I can't get any OC.

I am running my e6600 @ 400*8, memory is 1:1 or 800mhz. I can't run the motheboard @ 400*9, 1:1 memory. It won't boot.

Well, it could be a weak E6600. Have you raised your Vcore from stock?

My Vcore is 1.392 according to CPU-Z. It is set to 1.425 in the bios.

I can't seem to get these to OC at all. 2 or 4 modules.

Do you think my Vcore is too low? The way I have everything right now passes Orthos with flying colors.

It's hard to tell about your Vcore until you have done more experimentation. Try 1.5v for a bit and see if it will run at or close to 3.6ghz. My first E6600 would not do 400 x 9 at any voltage. I RMAd it because I think it had bad cache. Just watch your temps, stay at or under 65c or so.

I'll try that. My Proc runs very cool, Orthos full load 49c

Use these settings.....

NB Voltage - 1.4v or 1.55v
FSB voltage - 1.4v
Vcore - 1.45-1.5v voltage multi - .63x

4-4-4-12-4-20-4-4-4 @ 2.1v - 2.15v

maybe even 2.2v.... If Memtest 86+ v1.7 errors for you on test 5/8 most likely it is your timings... If it errors anywhere else it could be voltage, speed, or a damaged module.
